Ok, the act of gman moving in a circle around an axis is CENTRIPETAL.
Centripetal is the force that gman needs to stay in motion going around an axis without a rope. (i say without a rope to disambiguate the two, in centripetal force, the rope is irrelevant)
Since gman is attached to a spinning wheel, by ropes makes it CENTRIFUGAL.
Centrifugal is the force acting upon gman which tries to push him away from the axis, hence keeping the ropes taut.

1st off, I read that wikipedia article. It's all bullsh*t. I hate these kinds of morons who trust anything that comes on wikipedia. If wikipedia orders them to f*ck their mom they do it! also first law of newton simple states that objects like to move in a straight line with constant velocity unless a force is acted upon them! A neccassity for understanding cicular motion!
I find this physics discussion hilarious. I also understand centrifugal vs. centrifical, so I find those that insist it is centrifugal hilarious. Dear f*cktards, Centrifugal force does not exist, and was invented by no physicist or scientist but rather incompetant retards who looked up some latin roots. Centripetal is the force exerted on Gman by the rope. What's pulling him outwards is the force of inertia acting on his body because of his rotational acceleration.

Tee hee...i love all the idiots who are saying "Actually it's centrifugal force" No, it's not. Centripetal is the force the rope experiance, it pulls the Gman i., while the Gman wants to go in a straight line tangent to the circle, the centripetal force 'bends' his trajectory, making him go around like he's riding a spinnah.
