A man who was responsible for 2 to 3 times the murders that Hitler did is perfectly okay to jokingly pretend (without irony) to be some hero of people or decency or goodness of any kind.

This can only happen in the west which just has a way of sugarcoating certain dictators, tyrants and mass murderers because they happen to be "left wing", as opposed to "right wing". Arbitrary labels that both these men received after they were dead.
