"it reminds me of the story where the man stayed in his house during a
volanic eruption. He died. When he got to heaven he asked god "why didn't
you save me?" and god said "it was because of me that the rescuse workers
came to you. I did try, but you declined my help". God works in
mysterious ways." Lions work in less mysterious ways. Also, that's a purely speculative statement or, at best, hearsay, so I think we can disregard it.
