I think it's the same mentality behind the idea of 1 voting every WoW YTMND -and- giving the special classes to both factions. Society seems to be trying to create some sort of hive-mind. Sorry if I like my life non-homogenized.

It gives players a chance to experience the side-specific classes without being on the designated side. Some Alliance guys wanted to be shamans, and some Horde people wanted to be paladins. It's perfectly simple. Any non-sentient could figure it out...
