Yes you fail. You'll need a program. Sears google for gif animation software and the like. But...you can make them with photoshop...(well technically ImageReady...but both programs come together)...that's expensive, though.

I just started fooling around with animated gifs a few days ago. I downloaded GIF Movie Gear and its pretty easy to learn and use. Its one of those 30 day free trial things though.
