Techincally right? Sorry guys, but, technically speaking, you're wrong. The internet isn't "tube-like". It's a network. Networks aren't blasted through pipes as network clogging doesn't occur within the actual cables themselves. Any kind of network data back-up occurs at server-hubs. Pipes and Fiber Optic cables are not simliar in the least. This is basic networking crap that everyone should know, especially an idiot like Ted Stevens.
"the internet, at least at some physical level, is a series of tubes holding
fiber optic cables.... f*gtards" haha The Internet is the worldwide, publicly accessible network of interconnected computer networks that transmit data by packet switching using the standard Internet Protocol (IP). It is a "network of networks" that consists of millions of smaller domestic, academic, business, and government networks, which together carry various information and services, such as electronic mail, online chat
Only a certain amount of data can flow through a single cable at once, as a certain amount of water can flow through a tube or pipe at once. Servers and PCs are more akin to, say, toilets. FO is just a really, really big pipe. And guess what, your water system also uses really really big pipes to pump water to other houses than yours. Anyone who's had a DDOS attack knows that the tubes CAN be clogged.
