What's with the "He made Doom easy to beat" line? God mode isn't summoning God to help you get through the level- it's making you into a god- invincible. The mode it easy to beat, not God. So if there's a 'he' that made it easy to beat, it'd have to be the game designer... I'll argue Intelligent Design in this case. Anyway... should be "It made Doom easy to beat."
Wait... so you're saying god-mode is the same as God just because it has the word "god" in it? I don't understand why you're not understanding what I'm saying. When people refer to God they refer to Him, as in 'I like God. He rules!', but when people talk about a feature in a video game they refer to that feature as 'it' as in 'I like god-mode. It rules!' or maybe 'I don't like god-mode. It makes the game too easy.' Please understand me. I'm starting to question my ability to communicate effectively. Kinda.
Okay, I understand your random references to god now. In an effort to communicate with you, I will adopt your idiosyncratic speech patterns as my own from now on. I bought a new car and He's really nice because He can hold 4 adults, 2 kids, and a German shepherd when I take Him on vacation. To make sure I don't get lost, I print out directions from Google Maps. Google Maps is awesome because He shows me satellite photos or maps, or a hybrid of the two. I definitely prefer Him to MapQuest.
And that's my point exactly. A game's god-mode is just an everyday thing with nothing to do with God. It's just another name for easy-mode. When you enable god-mode, God doesn't suddlenly start protecting your character in the video game- the character becomes invincible because the designers programmed a feature in the game that they named god-mode, which gives your character special almighty powers.
