I personally think that 5>4>6>2>3>1, and also think that most people like MM2 the best for very good, valid reasons; but nostalgia can also blind people.
for all intents and purposes megaman and bass was just 9
also I was just realizing today that none of the originals are really left .. all that's left are spinoffs ... zero be dead, x probably won't be in any more games and they obviously aren't going to start making new stuff from the old storyline...
now it's exe and zx and .. starsomething or other...
