I agree with the win-win philosophy. the downvoters feel special, everyone else has a good lol. also, i reject the theory that downvoters are "rewarded" by attention and discouraged when ignored. ignoring them makes no diff, they are mindless and no action or inaction on anyone's part will make them stop. i mean unless max just banned them all or something.
Who cares if he wants
attention and this is giving it to him. We can still laugh at how
ridiculous he is, and if people laughing at him is what he wants, thats
what he gets. We laugh at a douche, he gets attention. Everybody wins. He won't stop just because we ignore him, and everyone wont just suddenly start ignoring him anyways.
