Ok, after reading through most of these comment, I can't believe how many hate commments there are. Yes we know that millions of others live with tradgic things worse than this throughout the world, but that doesn't mean this isn't sad. I feel that it was a very touching tribute. Personally I see no reason to hate it.

Though, I shouldn't be so harsh on the eleven year olds posting them.
5'd because the idiots commenting think the money'd go to his family. While I do admit that they don't need it, even if they lost Steve, the money is going to the WILDLIFE FUND. Not them. It's like saying money donated to this site is going to Max for his own sh*t, not YTMND! Also: I almost cried because of that Father's Day article excerpt.
I'm so sick of this sh*t. If it weren't for south park + media saturation nobody would even know who he is. Aussies, I'm sorry your country sucks. I'm sorry your national hero is some retard who wrestled dangerous animals while he had a wife and 2 kids at home. What a great role model. There are far greater people deserving tributes.
Jesus Christ, there are some dense motherf*ckers around here...The charity isn't for Irwin's family. It's for conservation work. I can't believe a person could fail to understand that. And of course no one was intellectually shocked by his death; you hang around dangerous wild animals enough and the risk of death is going to escalate. I would imagine his daughter was repeating stuff she probably heard her parents say all the time, in that interview.
Punkintended, thanks for witholding the vulgar comment (if only others had the same restraint), and for appreciating Joe Strummer. I realize you guys are tired of seeing this site in top viewed; I didn't anticipate it staying on the front page this long. I do think it's served its intended purpose by now.
