Ok, after reading through most of these comment, I can't believe how many hate commments there are. Yes we know that millions of others live with tradgic things worse than this throughout the world, but that doesn't mean this isn't sad. I feel that it was a very touching tribute. Personally I see no reason to hate it.

Thank you JohnnyQuest for making this, and thank you to the anonymous sponsor. I suggest that you add "Steve Irwin" or something Croc Hunter related to the title so this will be more noticable to newcomers with Steve and his family on their minds.

"He provoked deadly animals on a daily basis. It's his own damn fault. He put his family in this situation. I'm sure he had enough money and/or other ways to pay the bills. He didn't have to keep risking his life after having children, but he chose to. I feel bad for his kids and wife, but have no sympathy whatsoever for Steve. Furthermore I'm sick and f*cking tired of seeing these goddamn "tribute" sites all over YTMND. Stop it." people can do what they f*cking want dude.

You get a five because you put effort into this and it's actually sad, and dosn't suck, nor does it make light of his death. Therefore, you deserve a five. Everyone else, stop posting crap.

noone cares about all you f*gs that grew up with no dad because your dad didnt do cool sh*t like wrestle crocodiles and pickup deadly snakes. 5 because steve irwins death > all your dad's deaths combined.

Why do all these c*cks come in and go "l0l eirwin deadz!11!!!one!eleven1!!" or "bajillamillazillion people diez leik evry day, so stfu!?!1" Hows about these people munch on a bowl of my nuts, you'd probabally be a wee bit upset if someone you were a huge fan of or close to died. Though, I shouldn't be so harsh on the eleven year olds posting them.

5'd because the idiots commenting think the money'd go to his family. While I do admit that they don't need it, even if they lost Steve, the money is going to the WILDLIFE FUND. Not them. It's like saying money donated to this site is going to Max for his own sh*t, not YTMND! Also: I almost cried because of that Father's Day article excerpt.

Booooooring. I'm just as sad and stuff as you are, but I simply don't think this belongs on YTMND. No offense. I don't think you're polluting YTMND with a site like this; I think it's mutual. It's a disservice both to YTMND and to your memorial. The format just isn't right.

I think these sites are a great use of YTMND.
September 11th, 2006

No, Steve Irwin was NOT more important than anyone else who's died, but that's not what JQ is saying! He's just honoring the man's memory for crying out loud, and I support that vehemently. Good job, man.

Sympathize for his family I can do. Donate to his family? For what? Many people loses their parents, just because we're familiar with this one, doesn't mean they should get special treatment, especially since they don't exactly need the money that badly.

I'm so sick of this sh*t. If it weren't for south park + media saturation nobody would even know who he is. Aussies, I'm sorry your country sucks. I'm sorry your national hero is some retard who wrestled dangerous animals while he had a wife and 2 kids at home. What a great role model. There are far greater people deserving tributes.

Damn right. I can only hope those children are able to grow up as normal, but then with the loss of a man like Steve, I doubt that would happen without much work... Be strong kids. It's been hard for us, and it must be infinitly harder for you. Luck.

Jesus Christ, there are some dense motherf*ckers around here...The charity isn't for Irwin's family. It's for conservation work. I can't believe a person could fail to understand that. And of course no one was intellectually shocked by his death; you hang around dangerous wild animals enough and the risk of death is going to escalate. I would imagine his daughter was repeating stuff she probably heard her parents say all the time, in that interview.
September 12th, 2006

Punkintended, thanks for witholding the vulgar comment (if only others had the same restraint), and for appreciating Joe Strummer.
