Sorry, I really don't buy into a "WIN PWNZ" or "LOEZRZ" online argument outlook on sh*t. The NARV fanboy community of this site is so dispositional to enjoy whatever their peers enjoy that providing honest criticism will provoke hostility. Again, you children just can't grasp that creation and critique are completely different concepts that do not influence, effect, or even contribute to the quality of one another; I know the idea of a user coming to YTMND simply to enjoy and rate sites frightens you, but it’s time you begin to understand its plausibility. I don’t consider my responses some sort of unhealthy obsession. They take about two minutes to type up tops – most likely a fraction of the time many spend on creating sites.
When sh*t like this becomes "top-5 material," you'd have to be a moron NOT to raise hell over the obvious derogation of standards in the community. All the effort and time spent making petty sh*t like this could be re-directed to the production of funny or unique sites; however, when half of the morons on the site praise their current nostalgic infatuation with a flood of inflated votes, it's hard to resist the urge to continue shoveling sh*t into the ravenous beast's mouth. Nostalgia and movement =/ 5 stars. The mechanics of the f*ggy short film combine with teenage Nintendo nostalgia and virtually replace any sort of humor or creativity. You’re merely expounding on a proven formula of success to create a hollow site that will continue to retard users.
foamingatthemouth should recognize that his claim of "Teenage Nintendo
nostalgia" is oxymoronic here, considering anyone who played SMB3 in its heyday is most certainly no longer a teenager. I've noticed that he only spews his endless hate rants on YTMND's about video games, which makes me think he's just trying really really hard to prove he's not a nerd.
"I know the idea of a user coming to YTMND simply to enjoy and rate sites
frightens you" It frightens me? Look at yourself. People came to ytmnd. They enjoyed this site. They rated it. Then you came in and had to tell all of us "children" (calling people kids in order to make your point/seem more mature than the oposition is old and really quite sad btw)that we were all wrong, as if you can tell us "you didnt find that funny or creative, give it a 1" Seems like were the ones enjoying and rating sites while you continue to spew sh*t out of your mouth. And as far as standards go, you're on a website of animated GIFS with looping sounds and you're talking about standards?
It's funny that you talk about standards also. Anyone can go to your favorites and see that you're full of sh*t. Really.....you could have just cut down your first comment to "I do not find this funny at all" and I would have been finewith that. However then you had to go and try to tell us how we were all idiots and had no standards (which we all know is a bunch of hypocritical bullsh*t)
I could turn out 80-120 pages on the degregation of YTMND if anyone could find me a publisher, $$. And yes, for those who have noticed, I'm relatively generous when it comes to rating decent YTMND's (and even placing them under favorites) -- I'm not just an insane downvoter. We're all guilty of voting inflation to some extent, but I like to think I simply react porportionally to events. And an event like this demands a strong reaction against something that truely degrades the standards by which YTMND's are judged and made.
"You're right Panda, from now on I'll only rate YTMNDs based on how much
effort has been put into them, rather than their originality or
entertainment value. Face it, this is a pretty easy edit, but easy edits
can also be awesome. Get it through your head." +1, look at the site that started this all... Picture, sound text, a centralized focus, not a f*ggy short film... and I bet it only took 10-15 minutes to put together. I fav'd this site because I like it. So, you don't, but that doesn't effect my choice at all.

lol. Writing 80-120 pages about trends in an online user-submitted humor site certainly seems like an unhealthy obsession. Face it, being a douche to people online is the only thing that gives you any sense of power in your miserable life. You don't care about standards or quality, your looking for an argument because thats where you get your kicks. The best thing for you to do at this point is cease commenting on this site.
Very nice. And why not throw my 2 cents in. I'm a critic much like the FoamingPanda in the sense that I can't make YTMND's because I don't know how. However, I'm more of a Free-Artist. I liked the novelty of using a hideous film with a Mario Bros. creature being responsible for destroying a city. It's unique because I haven't seen anything like it before, and you can check my vote record to see that I've seen a lot of stuff. A lot of crap, and a lot of good stuff. I think this is mildly funny, but I especially like the vision you had. This will never be one of my favorites because it doesn't really make me hold my sides and laugh, nor does it do anything special. I don't think its top 5 material either, but I don't let where it is in the rankings
determine my vote. This site does stray a lot from a simple Picture, Sound, Text theme, and it can be called a f*ggy short film. But as FoamingPanda pointed out, there are exceptions when its done with a certain amount of precision. And even though not everyone is going to find this funny, everyone's opinion is their own and they are entitled to have it. I think FoamingPanda has a lot of good major points, but I think he needs to not be so upset that he is in the minority. You've been heard, dude. But I don't think everyone should be labeled NARV simply because they don't critique like you.
I'd like to throw in my 2 cents. This ytmnd on a purely technical level is good on all fronts- it combines two different music sources and video etc. Plus the fireball stuff is done perfectly. The music is whimsical when compared to the destruction that the pirahna plants cause, and most importantly like haiku, it's short and sweet. Postmodernist bubble? WTF do you think ytmnd is foaming panda?
god, foamingpanda, you need to shut up. You go on and on about being a so called "intelligent and fair critic," but lets go back to your first comment on this page: "Another example of NARV kitsh. Really, you retards will upvote any 15 year
old Nintendo sh*t that's been shopped into a f*ggy short film that is not
funny, creative, or entertaining in the slightest." Alright, is that really what an intelligent and FAIR critic says? It shouldn't be. And yes, it is possible that other people might not share your "refined" sense of humor. So, good day, sir, please go preach your bullsh*t where someone gives a crap. And nice YTMND, AngryDriver.
Awesome, 5'd. Oh yeah panda, because sites that don't take long to make just plain suck. Like the original YTMND, which without this site wouldn't exist. Dumbass. Fantastic argument. And stop using long words to sound smart, it doesn't make you sound like the great elder YTMND user you think you are.
