What I have discovered: the DOS thing says it's from 1982. THECAKEISALIE mentions they're using 20-year old equiptment. That means portal takes place is 2004. The same year that portals from the Xen/Combine planet began to appear. No damn way that's a coincidence.

I just noticed if you do the test thing, and pay attention to the flashing letters shown every so often, they spell out "THECAKEISALIE"
