The Worthless Worthwhile: Now Obsolete!
Created on: October 2nd, 2006
The Vicious Cycle: Or how YTMND's new features screwed themselves over. Also subliminal messaging. Max says it's fixed now. Here's hoping.

There's no exploit. If your YTMND has an average of more that 4.0, it's in the random rotation of Worthwhiles. Those ones just have an average consisting of less than (I think) 5 votes, which was the minimum cutoff before this new layout came up. They're just old sites that came and left the Newly Created section while only getting one or two upvotes.
The "kill" feature isn't new though. It just hasn't been used on the SFW side of YTMND enough for people to notice. Many sites on YTMNSFW have been killed for the past months, for obvious reasons I'm sure. For whatever reason, however, SFW side YTMND's are getting whacked lately. Only real conclusion is to make killed YTMND's links only viewable by mods and admins.
Glad to see others share my pain. If the worthwhile list had been in its current messed up, misleading state back when I first found YTMND, I wouldn't have half the favorites that I do. Before the layout switch Worthwhile provided an almost guaranteed source of funny and well done entertainment. Now it's the opposite, you're lucky if ANY truly worthwhile creations appear. I have faith that this will be fixed, however.
