I actually heard somewhere, that by selling just the console sony isn't making a profit due to how much it costs to make. The profit comes from the games. What the exec was saying, was that the competitors were trying to make a proft from just the console because it didn't cost them as much to make the original hardware. Although my sources are sketchy, and i'm still going to buy a Wii instead.
The PS3 is a bargin if you consider the facts. Blu-ray players cost $1000 by themselves. Blu-ray discs hold 50gb, 360 and Wii still use DvDs, only 9gb. That's why Killzone 2 and MGS4 aren't coming to the 360, they'd have to take so many shorcuts. And getting a 360 with the features a PS3 has would cost $610, $110 more than a PS3 costs. 360 $250+HDdvd external player $200+Wifi $100+Yearly fee of online play $60=$610 PS3 comes with Wifi, blu-ray, and has free online play. and no ring of fire or overheating.
