why not, we celebrate Columbus day, he was just like Hitler in a lot of ways. honestly i do find it offensive, but it's funny too because the irony is we teach kids that Columbus was a good guy, but he was responsible for the holocaust of the natives of this land, just like Hitler. so we should all get the say off on his birthday. if anyone thinks its wrong, (i do) you should protest thanksgiving, and Columbus day as well. if you don't you're a f*cking hypocrite
Yalsew how do you figure? I'm not wrong, if you don't agree, then you are either racist, toward the natives or were looking in the mirror when you came up with the word ignorant. Hitler, and Columbus were the same, Columbus, would slice open the stomach of pregnant women, and stop on the babies. He chopped off the hands of children he accused of stealing from him. he is responsible for a holocaust just like Hitler. and they both used religion to justify it, only their motivations were different
bullsh*t, there was no holocaust in the americas. there was the spanish inquisition, though. but you can't just put that blame on columbus for that. and what the f*ck are you talking about slashing open pregnant women? who says? any sources on that? hitler organized a huge genecide, columbus didn't organize anything like that, didn't even have the power to do something like that, he was just looking for a way to get money and landed in america. neither used religion to justify anything, dumbf*ck.
2nd note to the quarreling duo: Columbus actually thought very highly of the Native Americans on his first voyage. It was only due to King & Queen of Spain that on his second voyage he would help enslave them or be imprisoned. It is at this point Columbus becomes an absolute horror. However, we celebrate Columbus day for his first voyage of being enterprising and being the door to which America could exist. You can place the blame of the holocaust of Native Americans at the feet of the Spanish Monarchy.
