It seemed hard for him to apologize to that national audience last night, making me think he was being very sincere. The awkwardness of it all leads me to believe that very little of what he said was scripted (if anything) and that he was speaking from the heart of someone who is so used to trying to make people laugh that it's hard for him to be heartfelt. I love Kramer the character and Seinfeld the show about as much as I love ANY character or show and won't laugh/look at him differently because of this.
I dont know dude. I was at the hospital today in the waiting room they had this sh*t on the news and Paul Mooney was ripping him apart. As much as I love(d) this guy, I just can't look at him the same anymore. he's really lost it. I mean what he said was really how he felt you could tell the boy just lost it and said what was on his mind. I really like racy or edgy comedians, but what went down wasn't comedy it was a mental breakdown. Maybe it's time to put the mic back on the stand and walk away for good..
Im not saying what he did was right, but this doesnt mean hes racist. He probnably just thought of the worst thing to sayto the hecklers, and they were black. If a puerto ricon person pissed me off enough, i might say something about them but that doesnt mean im racist. But yea, hes frickin crazy now.
He's not a racist, that black guy and his friends? They were just a bunch of typical stupid, rude, good for nothin n*gg*rs. Kramer wasn't doing that for his health, it's his f*ckin job. If a black man comes to your job for the sole purpose of disrupting you, he's a n*gg*r. Thanks, case closed, it wasn't racism.
ok he flipped out once and everyones going to Condemn a national icon. i love how america works. work your *ss off to make us laugh but if you make a mistake we're not going to let you say your sorry. your all *ss hole sin my book. making fun of hims one thing but this is just atacking the poor guy.
I love what Jerry Seinfeld said about him, "I know him. He just can't deal with being heckled." In which case, I think he needs not to do stand up comedy. It's like saying, "Oh, he's a fantastic actor, he just has crippling stage fright and could never perform in front of an audience." He made a mistake. And I wish people would do what he did and at least try to apologize. But it's never going to be the same for him again.
I imagine that the frustration from a dissapointing post-Seinfeld career may have errupted out of him at a bad time and a bad place, but that's just a theory. I saw his apology on Letterman Monday night and he appeared convincingly devasted by all of it. It's certainly a case where sorry isn't good enough, but that still doesn't make it pointless to say you're sorry.
It's amazing. No matter how many times Aaron McGruder or other Black comedians use this word, no matter how often this words is said within this community, them's only fightin' words when whitey says them. And don't forget who "Stole My Bike" from the YTMND bike rack. Not that I'm condoning the use of hate speech, but WHEN YOU HECKLE A COMEDIAN, EXPECT TO BE RIPPED A NEW ONE.
Of course he isn't a racist. These days, racists don't exist except as an imaginary group people like to put down. He was completely justified in what he did; doing the most shocking thing he could to piss off the people interrupting him. The only problem is that, though they were acting the stereotype and he called them on it, there's a social stigma against ANY use of racial stereotypes, because there's this popular idea that if someone uses them they mean that ALL people of that 'race' are like that.
In this day and age when I see black people every day acting like idiots and calling each other n*gg*rs it is really hard for me to feel sorry for the people he yelled at. He got pissed off, and he vented by saying curse words. I am sick of all this, you cant say that because your white BS, if you say something every 2 seconds when you have a conversation then when a white person says it its oh so wrong, you are just a f*cking hyporcite.
lol at the "If the roles were switched we wouldn't hear about it". If the roles were switched you would be defending the heckler. That and there's the fact that people put Seinfeld characters on a pedestal
Anyway, the heckler got him in the end with the bit about his career being dead and even after he dropped the n-bomb, all he could do is walk off the stage. Anyone can say "n*gger" and get a response, that doesn't make it witty or funny. And his remarks made half the crowd leave. Yeah, he sure showed him
It has nothing to do with the racism. He can be racist all he wants. It has to do with his lack of self control and if as a comedian you can't handle people openly mocking you then you need to put the mic down for good. you can't f*cking be a comedian and expect "dur I'll never get heckled" it's part of the job and if you can't handle it then you are not a true comedian. Haven't any of you been to a damn comedy act once in your lives? when a comedian gets heckled htey think of a witty remark. not racism.
I find it funny when people make the, "if the roles were switched no one would care argument" and start dropping the names of black comedians who use racial terms as an example, but there's a large portion of black people who, shockingly, don't use those words. Not every black person says n*gg*r day in and day out, so it's still offensive to a majority of blacks. Yeah the heckler had it coming, but not like that, I've seen comedians make fun of hecklers without the use of racial slurs or swear words.

NERK rules. He's totally not a racist IMO...
the almighty "n" word could (and likely will) become seen as less and less offensive over the next decade or two. There was a time when "queer" was only used in a derogatory way towards homosexuals. Now homosexuals (some of them) prefer the term "queer," and at universities that study homosexual culture, the name of the class is "queer culture" etc etc...a once mean word took on a different meaning.
similarly, hundreds of black rap artists (if you can CALL them artists) are busy calling each other n*ggaz like it's a word that means "friend" or "companian" or "bro." For now, it's remained an inside word: only black people are allowed to use the word, as though they reclaimed it from the evil white oppressors that once used it to mock them. Someday, however, it may be the case that the word loses its racist tone and simply is used in a strange/sarcastic way to call someone a friend...
after all, many argue that the origin of the "n" word is actually slang for "ignorant." So it's like when you call your best friend a loser, or when you walk in a room and you're like "sup Bitchez!!!" If Kramer was using the "n" word in this context, then the man isn't a racist, he's just ahead of his time. Defensive ppl need to just grow the f*ck up (like most of the Middle East...)
