The reality is that the people who are making this atrocity had nothing to do with Transformers in the first place, and are only trying to cash in on it's past success; all the while bastardizing the hell out of peoples' childhoods to make a quick buck, while showing you a 1:30:00 car commercial, as all the vehicles they've made them be are 2006 models, or completely nothing what they should be in the first place. I vote boycott this POS movie ASAP.
What's the target audience for this film anyway? It isn't the elderly because they don't know what the hell Transformers are. It isn't the fans of the original series because these "upgrades" are an abomination to the past. And I doubt it's for the kiddies because I don't believe Transformers have the same popularity level with them that they did with the original fans. So.... I have to ask: Wft?
VectorNine: Their design is to try and get both parents and kids. The parents will gladly take their children to a movie they feel they can identify with, and the newer spin-off type Transformers cartoons have secured a child fan base again. They're hoping for double the ticket sales for what would be an older audience. They're trying to take everyone for suckers with this garbage, and it's outright disgusting.
I thought I 5'd this months ago... Oh well. I'll just 5 it now and add that there isn't much more they could have done to rape my childhood, a f*cked-up Optimus Prime, and as I understand it, Bumblebee is not a VW Bug? The movie may feature transformable robots, but it damn sure ain't the Transformers from MY childhood.
