Fun fact: Al Gore has never, ever said "I invented the internet." What the former VP ACTUALLY said was that he was "Instrumental in the development" of the internet. THIS IS NOT A LIE. He WAS. The Internet as it exists today does so largely because Al Gore saw its potential in an early system, ARPAnet, and secured the time and funding necessary for it to grow into the phenomenon as it exists today. Know the facts.
In 2005, the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences honored Gore at the Webby Awards for Lifetime Achievement for three decades of contributions to the Internet. The Webby Awards, which are widely hailed as the Oscars of the web, "wanted to set the record straight" about Al Gore and the Internet once and for all. Tiffany Shlain, the awards' founder and chairwoman said, "It's just one of those instances someone did amazing work for three decades as Congressman, Senator and Vice President..
"a republican who plays Magic? game of chance about wizards and fantasy?
That's like übersatanism. Expect smiting from your vengeful god any day
now." Sigh...Neo-conservatives and social conservatives are just as
different from true conservatives as they are from liberals. This website
and these comments just go to prove that A) People of all political persuasions
are too stupid to understand these "subtle" differences and B) People will
regurgitate hearsay and mass-media drivel and lap it right back up.
