| ?Saw III, not quite as good as I was hoping. by Tanker940 |

Actually, they can't both be true or false. That creates a contradiction, which is logically unsound. The only valid solution is for one to be true, and one to be false. Whichever one you choose to be true is irrelevant since the statements are codependent, and the validity of the false statement is derived from the arbitrary definition of which statement is true (sort of like a logical frame of reference).
"The only valid solution is for one to be true,
and one to be false" Actually, since it's a circular linkage, neither can be true or false. That requires validating an assumption with an assumption, which is logically incorrect. The answer is option C: They are indeterminate statements in that they are defined yet we can never validate them. Therefore they are both true, and both false, at the same time. Perhaps we're saying the same thing.
I want to see one sentence on the card: "Everything on this card is false", then from a tape recorder "To live you must determine whether the statement on the card is true or false"; "Damn you you Cretan!!"(I couldn't resist, nerd humor. If you don't get the 'Cretan' part, send me a private message).
