I think we have different standards for different kinds of sites on ytmnd, Sitsu. I know I value craftsmanship over cheap humor any day (despite my total technological idiocy), but at the same time, I often head to YTMND strictly for stupid laughs. I think sites that require absurd amounts of time, effort, and discipline (like this one) DO deserve extra recognition over a simple screen capture with a crappy "lol" mspainted on it, but it's not something that makes me think YTMND rewards mediocrity.
Basically in the past, assets were added to the database as needed. Now, when something is added to the database/filesystem assets are logged by user and date. This means as of March, it would be possible to at least see who the first user to upload an asset would be. Additionally, every time a site changes image, sound, text etc an entry is made to the database with the previous and new versions. This was mainly for moderation purposes, but very possibly could be used to see all the revisions of a site.
