It is a quail egg. You can get small packages of them in higher-end grocery store. Very nifty way to retain the ultra-small theme, because a syringe in a normal chicken egg would have worked just as well.

For those who aren't russophiles: the item produced at the end of all this is called a blin (блин), which is similar to a pancake. The ingredients are flour, water, milk, oil, and eggs. All of the stickers on the needles are Russian-branded ingredients. Russian coke-addict's breakfast ftw!
