Rock 'n' Roll Education
A flowchart of American Rock 'n' Roll. Not classical music, not reggae, not emo, not ska, not bossa nova, not techno, not poland, not bobsled, just rock 'n' roll. So don't over analyze it. It's a prop from a Hollywood movie for god's sake.

This YTMND would be infinetely more complicated if you added to it all the different genres and sub-genres of metal.

i saw that other site. it's pretty sh*tty. In fact, it's nothing like this. It's based on the fact that it's a chalkboard. This is based on different genres of music. You fail, thank you, good night.

I've never seen the movie, but anyone can tell it's a diagram of American music. So no, you're wrong.

Disco -> Rap-- f*ck I knew that anything spawned from disco would suck
April 12th, 2007

Rap was more of a direct spawn from Funk. Disco influenced new wave a lot more, but the "black" line went across the bottom so they had to fit it in there somewhere.

Rap and Hip Hop originated from Disco?! That doesn't seem right. (but what do i know?)

haha i read that at first too, but then i realized it was frank zappa AND Can. although i would never group them into the same category??? who drew this charT? it's not really correct. what about post rock? noise music? new wave leads to NO WAVE? there's a lot of sh*t missing in here.
