People also might want to know that the same user has two other 'Safety not guarnteed' sites on his youtube account as well as what looks an awful lot like another ytmnd, its a series of tubes type remix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lQbOr_mJpE. If its their own thing I guess thats alright as I havent found it here.

I have to agree. You see, it's the constraints that make the place special, rather than the freedom of simply doing a video. Also, youtube becomes a sponge for all the 'f*ggy short films' so that YTMND doesn't have to contain that many. So in terms of capability, youtube has it. In terms of quality, well depending on your perspective, YTMND has it. Unless you aren't a fan of YTMND style humor, in which case being here wouldn't make much sense in the first place.
Yes, I have to agree with what you are saying. I made that comment to see what people think on this matter. I do think it is the culture that at least in part makes ytmnd great. Youtube is kinda too big to have the same kind of culture...personally, I just use it as a resource to search for specific things.
I've been trying to think of specific technical capabilities of ytmnd that youtube doesn't have, and I have come up with a couple. For one, youtube doesn't loop. So things like lindsay lohan doesn't change facial expressions wouldn't be able to work the same way. Secondly, ytmnds are easy to download -- you can save picture and sound easily, make your own modifications, etc. So people work off each other. You can download youtubes, and separate picture and sound, but it is harder and there are legal issues.
Hey everyone, this is "thechriscorr", the maker of the original Youtube that this is based on (I can prove it if need be).
I was just browsing YTMND one day, clicked on the top viewed of the day, and bam, someone has made a YTMND out of one of my Youtubes. I couldn't believe it. I wasn't too happy at first, because it showed the negative comments made about my original video, but then I thought about it, and it's pretty funny and creative.
In case anyone's wondering why I made the original video a Youtube, and not a YTMND, it's because when I made it I was unable to create a YTMND account. There was a problem with registering new accounts at the time. BTW, the guy on the left of the picture is a friend of mine. I sent him the link to this and he thought it was a riot.
