Unfunny Truth about Police Brutality (fixed)
Created on: June 15th, 2007
On July 8, 2004, police officers entered the house of Lester Siler and tortured him using various methods, including applying electricity to his genitalia. Upon arrival, the officers asked his wife Jenny and son to leave. Before the torture, however, Sile

The Kennedy's dealt drugs too...Alcohol during the Prohibition...Yet one's a Senator.
This guy deals other drugs gets beat to sh*t.
Bootleggers during the Prohibition went on to kill maaaaaany cops and children and other bootleggers...yet that's where much of the wealthy families of today started out if they weren't already wealthy from owning slaves on plantations or
The cops have no right of doing what they did no matter what.
"If he had nothing to hide, he should have just let them in to search."
i have so much more to say...but i'm just losing hope. how the f*ck can any of you defend what the cops did? It was illegal. ILLEGAL. Why the f*ck do cops even have a business knowing what you do privately anyway? Why does the government need to f*cking know what you do? All the government was intended to do was protect us from invaders...and they've already failed (Pearl Harbor/New York). What good is the Federal government? We need to check the power of those we've vested our trust in
Some cops swarmed an outdoor electronic music show held in a woodland area (north of dc) awhile back looking for drugs. They literally busted into locked cars, searched everyone, and confiscated money and sound equipment. The area was rented out, and the police were only called there because of a 'noise complaint' from nearby residents, not an actual illegal event.

This problem is rather widespread. Men and women abusing authority is as old as man and probably quite a few animals. Whether you live in England or Singapore, I wouldn't just laugh it off. It maybe your problem someday and not just be the problem of 'those fat *ssh*les across the ocean'
Any rational person must admit that there is no reason to believe the charges against him were not fabricated out of whole cloth. The cops who did this would not hesitate to plant evidence, and many juries would never believe a cop would plant evidence or lie.
We live in a world with some very naive people who will buy a drug charge based SOLELY on drugs found at the scene. Unless there were several civilian witnesses, I don't see why I should believe he is a drug dealer merely because he was convicted
well obviously the police did something wrong if they were all convicted, but this site is essentially pointless. the bad guys got what they deserved because not too many people get much more than 10 years for assault and battery, especially if they are cops. while i agree that it's not fair that cops get a lighter sentence, they should be granted some leeway since we really don't know the situation and all the audio you give us is a jumbled up mess of sh*t.
I used to work at a community theater on Main Street running lights and sounds, and helping out the director. I was friends with him and many actors. Some parent called in because she suspected the director was drunk (To be fair, it's arguable, but even so the man wouldn't ever do anything bad, he took his job very seriously). The cops came and after about a minute of questioning, threw him on the ground and started beating and macing him. When his girlfriend told them to stop, they did the same to her.
I'll say I in no way agree with the police in this case, they were obviously wrong. However there are people who do things wrong all the time. Do you want to make YTMNDs about every single person who tortures people? You try to make it seem like it's a giant coverup when they all ended up in prison. The only reason I'm giving this a 1 is because you make it seem like it's a giant conspiracy and you leave out relevant facts. This isn't a conspiracy it's a couple idiots who decide to torture someone.
Goddamn both of you are complete f*cking retards. @clyde, do a little research, this type of sh*t happens ALL THE TIME. Just because it's news to your 15-year old virgin, sheltered ears doesn't mean it is to everyone. @Nitz, reading comprehension is really hurting you right now. Conspiracy has multiple connotations. BlueThunder was saying that the author of this site was attempting to portray this whole incident as one big coverup, or C.O.N.S.P.I.R.A.C.Y. to make it seem that much more drastic.
Why would you hear about a case such as this? This type of thing isn't really important in the broad spectrum of things, and they have actually been through the legal system. If this happens a lot and every case is dealt with by the legal system, then there is no problem, everything is working as intended. However, if this is going on and it's NOT being punished then it's something that should be brought to light. Otherwise we need to focus on much more important issues such as Paris Hilton's jail sentence.
Why wouldn't he sign a search warrant? He clearly had something to hide. He probably had drugs. I've seen people that get arrested for meth labs and he looks very much like your typical. You can bring up "It's his right to sign a search warrant." Yes, it is. Only people with something to hide take that right, silly enough. :) While police brutality happens, it's certainly not an issue. Do I think police should get to use more force than allowed on certain subjects? Yes. Was this one of them? No.
That's not true, I've been asked, very quickly and quietly after a traffic stop, if the cop could search my car. Obviously he was hoping I would just agree and go along with it, but this was not the case. I've declined every time, and was never carrying drugs or a dead hooker in the trunk. I don't want f*cking cops rooting through my sh*t, much less getting close enough to plant something in my car. And yes, they will threaten you if you decline a search.
See, this story went largely unreported because Lester Siler is white. Police beatings don't matter when its white on white simply because white people aren't special. If he were black, it'd be the real type of police brutality: a hate crime. White on black police brutality is the only type that sells in the media.
Criticisms about the YTMND itself: Change the color of the text; (yellow on black is annoying to read). That, or slow down the frames. Moves a little fast for my liking, especially with the text. Also, you may wish to change the music; this particular clip is a tad overused. As for the concept of making a YTMND regarding awareness to police brutality, I think you're overshooting the point. Smoothmedia's original unfunny truth was created to help create awareness to the dangers of Scientology. ...
This YTMND seems to be attempting to do that exact same thing, but with police brutality. The problem is that we all know police brutality exists, we've all heard the case studies and we've all shuddered at the possibility of it someday happening to ourselves. The bottom line is that police brutality to this extent occurs extremely rarely and when it does, it's found out and extorted. A huge deal can be made out of something very little and often the attention being given to the actions of police takes away
from the attention being given to the actions of the suspect/perpetrator. I'm not going to start a Rodney King debate, because it ends up going nowhere. Did the police overreact? Yes. Yes they did. The point is that Rodney King could have gotten a lot of people killed that day. He barreled through stoplights, busy streets and crosswalks; this we know. What we don't know about this case is: why the police officers wished to search Siler's house in the first place, what sort of history did he have with the...
I don't care if they were searching for anthrax, they did not have just cause in shocking him, shooting him, and hitting him. Also, Rodney King DID WRONG as well. The cops overreacted there, but he really should have complied and stayed on the ground instead of getting up only to be whacked repeatedly.
police and what became of the actual case the police were dealing with at this time. Why was Siler even being investigated? What is his criminal record like? These sorts of things need to be addressed in the YTMND itself. One other thing I noticed is that 2 or more of those officers were NOT state certified. This sort of thing should be dealt with far before someone criticizes the actual officers committing 'police brutality'. Blame goes to the state on this one; officers on active-duty should probably be
"I don't think I'm overshooting, as this instance got almost no news coverage nationally." THE CASE WAS PROSECUTED. JUSTICE WAS SERVED. Scientology is a huge organization engaged in incredibly aggressive and illegal scare tactics and NOBODY DOES SH*T. These guys, individuals, did some f*cked up sh*t and paid the price. They're not an organization of hundreds coordinating and organizing this sort of thing without being punished, they were vigilantees brought to justice. Case closed, no need to write home.
F*cking disgusting...the bastards are supposed to work for us, protect us and make us feel safe. Totally unacceptable, and even worse there are those of you who think this is no big deal because it happens all the time; just accepting this adds to escalation and it is f*cking dangerous! also c*cks...
