Metal Slug 2 ending is taken from Independence Day. http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/neogeo/a/metal2.htm Also, Star Fox 64 has a level similar to Independence Day with a giant ship poised to blow up a pyramid with a huge laser. Doing a barrel roll has no effect against it, I'm afraid.
