Circus Maximus is Dream Theater

Circus Maximus is a great Norwegian Progressive Metal Band. The main reason they're great is because they shamelessly rip-off the timbre, instrumentation, and riffs of Dream Theater. Imitation is the highest form of flattery...but seriously, come on.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Circus Maximus, but the borrowing is a little bit more obvious than just "influence". Also, the CM members don't even list DT as a musical inspiration on their bios on their website (last I checked). The band looks the most like DT is, of course, German prog band Dreamscape, they are basically doppelgangers.
I'm still going to defend the side that you can take ANY prog rock band, and make numerous comparisons between the music. THAT is the style of the music. You take Dream Theater, Circus Maximus, Emmerson Lake and Palmer, Kamelot, Symphony X, King Crimson, Yes, etc, and you are going to find music based around triplets, accoustics, BG synth, similar drum fills, and what-have-you.
I understand that these elements are part of the musical genre (my favorite type of music consequently), but maybe I need to be more specific in my comparison. For example, in Biosfear vs. Just Let Me Breathe both riffs are unison (between guitar and keyboard) and alternate between the tonic and subtonic in identical eigth and sixteenth note rhythms (barring two extra eigth notes in the CM section).
But again, I say it's a ripoff just to be belligerent. I actually enjoy both bands.
