Military time is colloquially used in reference to 24 hour clocks. I don't see what this has to do with being US-centric. And I am aware Card is a Mormon. Ender's Game... I have mixed feelings about the book. Standalone it's generally alright, but those Ender's Shadow books... especially the sequels- they were horrid. That I am adamant about.
Personal story time: This song takes me way back. I only recently purchased it on iTunes just because. When I was six, I had to spend a night in the hospital after getting my tonsils removed. I remember laying in the hospital bed that Thursday night, the 11th of January in 1996, and then I heard this song on the radio. Everytime I hear this song, I remember that day. I threw up blood three times that afternoon, shortly after coming to. Then I watched Wheel of Fortune that evening.
