I remember on this episode of Law and Order: SVU, Adam Beach was taking care of these kids whose mom was a crack addict. They were going to celebrate their mother's sobriety by going to Red Lobster, but her mother had a relapse and overdosed. He took them to Red Lobster anyway. Moral of the story: Black people think Red Lobster is the fanciest restaurant in the world.
During a radio interview, Jim Rome and NBA player Chucky Brown had a discussion about the differences in per diem between the NBA and the minor league CBA. Brown, who had just returned to the NBA from the CBA, stated that CBA players would get $25 for meal money and go to Denny's or McDonald's, while NBA players would receive $80 and could eat at restaurants like Red Lobster. Later, when Rome interviewed Isiah Thomas, Thomas started the interview with, "I just got back from Red Lobster."
