YTMND.COM (Reuters) - The much-anticipated sequel to geraldo9.ytmnd.com was released today, while an eager group of Geraldo fans lined the block around the popular humor site You're The Man Now Dog hours in advance. Expectations were high; one of the queued fans, a well-dressed businesswoman of 29 who works at a major Wall Street firm, expressed her admiration for "Geraldo", the creator of such popular Geraldo-themes sites as geraldo8.ytmnd.com and geraldo7.ytmnd.com: "Geraldo Rivera's words are basically
just a canvas for this guy to work with, and frankly we've been more blown away by each of his new sites." Some Geraldo fans assert that a true Geraldo-media artist has to create a work without directly referencing the source material; many of the Geraldo faithful cite the writings of S. C. Forrester as the paramount Geraldo art of our decade. Forrester's novels, such as the recently-released "Geraldo and the Rings of Azdumar", place the familiar reporter and former talkshow host in a fantasy setting of
Tolkien-esque proportions, where he must do battle with malevolent baby-stealing wizards. Normally, works that directly incorporate soundbites or video footage of Mr. Rivera are looked down upon by the fandom. "Basically, if it looks like it came from YouTube, it's more of a childish diversion. We have higher standards than that for our Geraldo-related entertainment," states Kirk Tyson, a 22 year-old whose blog about Rivera is widely read. "We want more than mashups of his famous quotes and
digitally-enhanced closeups of that beautiful, brushy moustache. I haven't seen anything compelling from this 'Geraldo' character to make me compare him to an artist like Forrester." But Tyson admits that he cannot speak for the entire fandom, as evidenced by the turnout today for geraldo10.ytmnd.com. "You know, even if it's another tiled mix of soundbites and Fox News video, or just a bunch of bodies with pasted-on Geraldo heads, it's gonna make our day," says Milton, another fan waiting in line for
"Geraldo"'s new site. He adds, "But he's been getting pretty sophisticated these days; the fansites are saying he might go for something more freeform and Dada-esque this time. I'm up for whatever he delivers." Soon, Geraldo fans the world over will get to see whether the latest Geraldo site on YTMND meets their expectations and leaves them wanting more, as has been the case with "Geraldo"'s past works. Regardless of the final verdict, it's clear that the Geraldo fandom won't be going away any time soon.
