Don't Cross The Streams

this is sort of supposed to be for the funny-internet-user contest but I don't know if that is still going on and I've changed the gif so much no one would recognize the original. http://satanoscillatemymetallicsonatas.ytmnd.com/

Nah, it would be okay if done right. Don't you want to know when your favorite users make sites? And you aren't putting anyone on a pedestal because each user decides what users they want to see. Just because subscription is associated with youtube doesn't mean it will become youtube if you add subscriptions. And the gif is 40 frames because the original was 40.
I thought the purpose of ytmnd was to make and enjoy sites. My mistake. Checking profiles every day hoping to see a new site made by each of your favorites is insanely inefficient. I don't have time for that. You must not have very many favs if its that easy for you. I probably have at least 50 users I would subscribe too, and there is no way I would remember to check all of their profiles everyday nor would I want to. Just because you have subscriptions doesn't mean the frontpage is obsolete.
There is always time to browse around for new talent on Up and Coming. The reason why your sites don't get very many views is quite simple: there are not enough voters on ytmnd, and your sites aren't good enough to make it to U&C to get exposure. Only a new naive user would suggest that complete anonymity would solve ytmnd's problems. To prove my point, when I make a bad site, it gets no exposure. When I make a good site, it gets exposure. This has nothing to do with name recognition. Work on your skills.
Do you think I magically gained a "reputation"? Heck no. I earned it by making sites that people liked. I know it's frustrating because in ytmnd's current climate is rough, but selfishly bringing other users back to your level won't solve the real problems. I would check ytmnd almost every day regardless of whether or not my favorite users make sites. At any rate most of my favorite users don't make sites anymore, so I can only hope for more outstanding unknowns to pop up and make great content mostly.
Michael Bay doesn't have the ratings to back up his "propaganda". I do. Also, I didn't check your profile until after I made my argument, but I still think you are being naive. It is indisputable that ytmnd needs more voters. I guarantee that more voters will fix the problem. if you were around frequently in '06 you would have seen it first hand. I made worse sites yet my fourth site ever had more exposure in 4 hours than this site has had in 3 days. Voting is not always legitimate, but we can't change that
Subscriptions only give users more options. If they want to limit their viewing experience, that is their choice. If they want a normal frontpage with useless sections like top viewed, that is their choice. When you aren't imposing your will on other users, you are making a more free and "equal" website that caters to everyone's needs. Giving more options can only benefit not hurt users.
