Actually theres a logical explanation to that.... You know wolverine has that "healing factor", but once bitten the virus destroys that healing factor which keeps him immortal... Thus leaving him defenseless and able to be killed...Thus turning him to a zombie... Tho technically not a zombie since he retains his mind, the only thing that changes is his taste and craving for human flesh, and his body decomposing.
