Rumors, ghost stories and pre-death insanity != unfaltering, absolute truth. Nor can you say "You're all going to hell!" as if it was a fact. Why the hell are you still around? This website is not your personal soapbox. Go preach your stupidity somewhere else.

"I choose to live a good life and not follow a religion. Am I going to hell?" According to Dante's Inferno, you're going to Limo, where all the virtuous pagans(non-christians) go, so you know all the groovy people are gonna be there. Basically it's like earth, not heaven, and not hell, if you believe such things.

First let me say YOU ARROGENT F*CKER! You are not a martyr and neither is Peterguy, you presented bullsh*t arguments to try to make your beliefs seem like more than just faith, and we called you on it. Don't present a fallicitous argument if you're not prepared for a counter-argument. Oh, and you failed to mention all the people that christians themselves have killed in the name of Mr. Jeezybits, hell, a good deal of your martyrs were killed by other christians even. Don't pretend that christians have been innocent victims throughout history. You are not the only religion on earth, you have NO reason to complain. Congradulations, you have just put yourself on the level of the dirty hobos who scream from street corners.

This is nice. I never thought that you were just trying to be an *ssh*l*e, just that you were wrong. Evolution is scientific fact (yes, and theory, but scientific theory is different from saying "I theorize that the moon is made of cheese!") This is not an opinion, it is scientific truth, and you're gonna have to factor that into your beliefs, because denying the facts just makes you ignorent. However, there is nothing wrong with learning about peoples beliefs, much less discussing them, and debate can be good as long as it doesn't turn ugly.

Lack of evidence is not evidence.

These arguments are so stupid and dated that it makes my head hurt. Here's an exerpt from a CHRISTIAN WEBSITE: “'Darwin mentioned the absurdity of eye evolution in The Origin of Species.' Citing his statement at face value is subtly out of context. Darwin was talking about its seeming absurdity but then said that after all it was quite easy to imagine that the eye could be built step-by-step (in his opinion, with which AiG obviously disagrees—see Darwin vs. The Eye and An eye for creation)." as for the others: OMG THE BANANA IS CONVENIENT TO EAT IT MUST BE GOD!!!

Wrong. You still haven't provided evidence of god's existance. Although you adressed some of your more gaping arrogencies, all you have done is provide a nice little hole in our knowledge and said, hey, it could be god! Yes, it "could be" god. Just like it could be completely natural, physical causes. Your argument proves nothing , and the "If you're still an athiest" comment in the Q&A section is just insulting.

Am I going completely insane here, or does that guy look just like the dude from Numbers?

Thank you so very much. This restored my faith in humanity quite a bit. Too many christians have forgotten what faith really means, and you've provided a nice reminder. On another note: ultimacanti, you are retarded. Your argument here is "There's a chance you're wrong therefore you're entire argument is invalid." There are varying levels of factual validity you douchbag, and in a purely logistical way, this argument clearly debunks whetstone's.

Damn, said you're when I should have said your.

Wow, just... wow. Claiming that faith is on the same level of factual validity as thoroughly researched scientific theory is the height of arrogence. I've said it before, but faith CANNOT be backed up by logic, reasearch, or any sort of fact. That's why it's FAITH. If you can't accept this basic fact about your own religion, then maybe you need to reconsider you're choice of faith.

Let me call bull on the "life can't come from non-life" argument. I'll agree that it is highly unlikely that life would emerge from nothingness, in fact I've heard it said that the probability of life just appearing out of nowhere is about the same as that of a tornado hitting a toothpick factory and leaving a model of the Louvre museum made out of toothpicks, but there are more stars in the univers then grains of sand on all the beaches on earth. I'd say the chances are pretty good.

You didn't provide evidence of anything, all you did was state unknowns and say, "Well it must have been god then!" Fact is, religion can't be backed up by any amount of science. If you can recognize this and still have faith in something greater than yourself, good for you, but if you have to make up some bullsh*t speculation to try to prove it to yourself and others, then maybe you need to reconsider your choice of faith.
