What everyone with a myspace needs to do, is embed requests for ebaum material into their comments so it murders their bandwidth. Find the most popular MySpace, and shove it all on there.

I want to wiegh in on the debate, I'll say this from the massive spread of anti-ebaumsworld that in itself will damage the hit rate on his sight in the future. The ping of death aka DDOS, will only harm it so long a temporary ailment to the site, people that have it bookmarked will probably not even know it's being attacked. As they may have pages not affected by the porn spam hacks. I do think this is going to give him a large amount of hits but, the guy is already branded an idiot to countless other people on the YTMND site that in time will dwindle the hit rates. I think it was wrong for him to steal content and make a big buck off it, and in the long run this will actually NOT hurt YTMND but, actually help YTMND, as more people are curious as to what all this tom foolery is about. Thus discovering YTMND.com, there might even come a retentive lawyer claiming COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT!! God help that poor sap. But, all and all it's a good fad to follow up on and watch for entertainment.

There's a MAJOR difference between YTMND and eBaum: No one makes money off of YTMND, and all cash flow goes toward the support of the site. Bauman makes a living off of his site. So while both are certainly infringing on copyright, YTMND has the parody angle working for it (especially considering all the derivative works otherwise known as fads), where eBaum is outright theft. In the case of the Six Flags guy for example, YTMND is perfectly willing to take down sites upon the request of the owner. EBaum? He'd much rather dare real companies to look like bullies and sue him, ignore requests to remove content, and attempt to DDoS other communities that request en masse for the removal of content they own.

"But by being on his forum and posting there they are obviously supporting the man"
Untrue. Not entirely, though. But mostly. I mean, there's all sorts of forums out there. We could be at somethingawful, but have to pay money to join, or join the legions of nerds at any WoW site, but we don't. eBaums is the best forum we've discovered; it's filled with funny posters that we enjoy seeing in action and because it's an official forum, we won't (or don't have to)worry about having it shut down prematurely. Besides, we all agreed that the YTMND forums just weren't that great.

Watermarkgate. lol sorry couldn't resist. Anyway, you are right. This IS about YTMND. Traffic is the lifeblood of any website. Agreeing with you on all points, realize that this is the only response we're capable of. That doesn't make it right, but how can it be stopped? Both sites have made me laugh, this is true, but YTMND is not as well known as EBW. We would like to see the site grow, for Max's sake, as well as this twisted brand of humor that we have come to embrace. While I'm with Max in not condoning what's happened to the forums there (or anything on the site in general), I would like to see credit given where it's due. But since it won't happen, it's really a moot point. I'm content to enjoy the show. In a week or two, this will be nothing more than a funny little memory.

Wrong. It's more like frustration. I had at least hoped that YTMND would prove itself better by example, not by drawing continual attention to eBaums. By all means, fight and win this war. It boggles my mind, however, when the front page is literally all about eBaums (ok so maybe there are a FEW exceptions). I guess, however, I underestimated the amount of hate this community has towards that place. I'm with y'all on that, but let's return to normal. Or at least what qualifies as normal around here. :P

I disagree and agree at the same time, I think we should think with our heads not spam the forums, there is really no point, all it's gonna do is make Eric Bauman mad, I think we should keeping fihgting a battle though, Eric has been stealing for too long and stealing from YTMND is the last straw, I don't know what we else we could do but raise our voices, maybe eventually he will slip and we will have a vulnurable oppertunity of attack. Just keep your heads high and (c) anything that could turn big, as a matter of fact my friend had a tricky scheme, if you wish to hear it email me at court_jester1@hotmail.com, other than that stop being idiots and thinking that spamming forums will do anything -.- and Yes I do know I'm a hipocrit for saying this!

I wouldn't say the war's over, while it may be highly discouraged, and we can't make ytmnd to get messages out about it anymore, there's still some acts in motion already, so it won't truly be over till those are finished, and/or Ebaums is killed, though I doubt that'll happen, as much as we all hope it will.

Takster, Alot of the Hackers did this under YTMND's name. It can be implied (especially with Ebaum's high-paid lawyers), that since Max owns YTMND, he allowed this to occur, and didn't take steps to sanction those responsible.
I'm not a lawyer, but there is risk when you allow members of your site hack in your name. It's sort of like if someone went to the guy's house and bombed it in YTMND's name. All of a sudden Homeland Security would be all over Max.
Same sort of thing with Hacking.
All there needs to be is implied association. That alone would bring enough court costs to shut down YTMND for good.

Max, that was so beautifully handled. I can understand you wanting to work with them to end this petty waste of everyone's bandwidth. It does, as you said in your first notice about this "war", set a bad precedent. No one wants an unstable internet where major sites are crashed left and right because everyone pings all over en masse. I can see though this one put you over the edge and I applaud you for standing up to this bully. I could have and would have said the same things, but I would be dismissed as an immature cronie. The problem with people of Mr. Bauman's mentality is that he has his opinion of you set before he even speaks to you. There is nothing you can do about it: in his mind you are simply inferior and that's all there is to it. You dealt with him logically and without sinking to his level of insults. Good show, max.

Wow, after Max told us to give it up, I figured it was pretty much over, and would just die down from there, but all this guy has done with his immature boasts of maturity, insults and logical fallicies is add more fuel to the fire! How hypocitical to send your first official business letter to Max declaring you wish to speak to someone in a professional manner, with the least professional letter from an "Executive Vice President" I've ever seen. He really should've ran it by his lawyer first. That's what they're there for.

SORRY for all the posts -- let me try this again! -------------
I just caught myself up on this "battle" that's been going on -- first off I must say for someone who criticizes professionalism, Mr. Bauman has pretty lousy grammar! Now I noticed this on his pathetic FAQ (does he even know what that stands for?)
"We honor ALL requests to remove unauthorized material. If any original content creator wants their material removed or wants to be given credit, they can contact us. Contrary to all of the attacks and threats, WE HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY COMMUNICATION FROM ANYONE CLAIMING TO BE THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR OF THE ANIMATION IN QUESTION, OTHER THAN THE USER WHO SUBMITTED IT TO US. IF YOU ARE THE ORIGINAL CREATOR AND WANT IT REMOVED, BY ALL MEANS, PLEASE LET US KNOW."
So is he saying that the person who submitted the image WASN'T the original author?? I quote from the e-mail he sent Max:
"There is this big dispute over a piece of content that we received a signed release for."

Jesus Titty-f*cking Christ.
You guys, Max made valid points against his "opponent" here, but f*ckign read it. If there is one thing he isn't doing, it's asking the people who did all this sh*t to come and stand behind him and put his face on the posters.
If you think ruining other people's "e-property" is fun, go join myg0t. Otherwise get over it, what everybody did was f*cking stupid in every way. All this could have been settled if somebody had just asked who had submitted the photo to them, and then done what needed to be done to contact that person and have the image removed.

The FBI processes all viable threats, cetta, no matter how serious. Although the threat to the Baumans is trivial at best (knowing you flower-picking hippies), the fact is that there is a viable threat. The FBI will treat the case seriously, but I doubt that any action will be taken. Seeing as how Max is so insulated from the "cyber terrorists," Max himself faces little to no FBI pressure. Max may get an FBI file opened on him and may be questioned once or twice, but I doubt things would continue from there.

You don't have to get a copyright at all. there is a bill where any work created it is automatically copyrighted. Any ways I figure if Ebausm, reposts the picture, we are the bigger people in the end. Cuz he did not stay with the agreement so he seems like a sneaky pr*ck. I figure let real funnyvideos go also cuz so many people know about us and maybe now know we are the original proprietors of the lindsay lohan.

The funny part is that you guys defended the "copyright" of a guy who made his picture by stealing from magazines and photographers. If you defend copyright, you're opening the floodgates to destroying almost all the cool sh*t on the internet. Do you really think we'd survive a lawsuit for the trillion Mario sites? For the use of the Muhammad Hassan theme? For sampling ANY musician with deep pockets? For running whole scenes of Family Guy? Find a better reason to hate ebaums (there are plenty) and quit being hypocrites on this intellectual property sh*t.
