Now that there are ads on the subdomains and I'm not trying to use YTMND income to pay for my rent and groceries, YTMND earns enough to pay for itself and save for a rainy day. Don't feel bad about not sponsoring stuff, we're okay money-wise.

If we had a significant rise in income, we could hire another person on to do some "community management" or coding or any of the many tasks that I have on my plate which get overlooked when I'm spread too thin. I think that's a pipe dream at the moment though.

That said, I've been working over some numbers and it looks like with the reduced number of sponsorships it looks like it would be worth it to increase the amount of time sponsorships last, from a week to more like 12-14 days, so in the future sponsorship should be worth a bit more. I also want to make note of the Kiva deal on the sponsorship page, because I'm still honoring those.

I love your new site visuals. It is very clean and easy to understand. It is also beautiful.

I also want to express my sympathy for your piriformis syndrome.

I had a thought. What if you told us YTMNDers how much all the new server upgrades cost? I am sure that there are some here who would like to help by donating. That includes myself. Until I get hired by someone, I can only give a small amount now.

I haven't "hired people to keep up with demand" because the majority of advertisers find you guys worthless, this site never has (and most likely never will) make me rich, or even enough to hire anyone with a decent skill-set to help out on the workload.

It could have easily been improved in a number of different ways. For example: 1) A moderator system that doesn't solely rely on the community to participate and fuck up. 2) A new format that isn't nearly as archaic as the gif. 3) More/better servers. 4) Sub-categories for different types of ytmnds, so the front page isn't always a disorganized clusterfuck of content. 5) A layout and color scheme that doesn't look like a Xanga webpage from 2002. 6) Contests that actually entice users of skill to participate by giving them a reward that matters (which leads me to my next idea) 7) Structure a metagame around community involvement and content creation: something like xbox live's gamerscore or an rpg's leveling system. 8) Have advertising that isn't embarrassing and that does not invade the viewing space of sites. 9) Hire programmers/web designers and a marketing team that knows how to make this site flourish. 10) manage the nearly impossible task of gearing ytmnd's content into something more appealing to the masses, so people will actually come here.

It's probably too late for some of this stuff, and I don't know how much of ytmnd's identity could be lost in the process, but it couldn't possibly become worse than it is right now. Who knows what could happen if Max actually put a lot of energy behind it.

The oldest issue with ytmnd is that Max never took his baby really seriously. He's been running this site himself the entire span of its existence and could never keep up with the demands of the userbase, so they left. Instead of doing what any sensible person would do and turn ytmnd into a business and hiring people to keep up with demands and evolve the site and design, he insisted on keeping it completely static and self-contained within the community, only pushing to make vague promises of small incremental improvements based on a trickle of echo chamber demands (and even then he ignored some of that and made whatever you want to call YTMND 2.0). Max has never aggressively pushing for relevance, despite the clear opportunity to do so starting in mid 2006, ytmnd's peak, and that is why ytmnd has become the garbage heap of the internet instead of a viable alternative to other user-based media sites. Other sites grew up, and ytmnd festered and rot.

/fail on this topic mentioned. IRS and Federal Reserve are not part of the government. They are banks, banks, private banks at that, they are not connected legally to the treasury, or any other branch. Congress does not and cannot regulate them. Most of the time it's the banks scaring/bribing congress to pass the bills. Alan greenspan admitted it all on a CNN interview.

But noooOOOOoooo there isn't sodium fluoride in your water treatment facilities that men have to handle in full chemical suits nothing wrong here. The banks aren't really stealing the wealth of the nation the politicians aren't paid off criminals. noooOOOooo the GMO (genetically altered) food you eat does not serialize rab rats and make mortality rate rise. Nothing fishy going on here.

Give me a break... Scientology has killed what, 200, 300 people? max? Ok, moving on to REAL problems for humanity. The international banks that have been responsible for about every war since after Napoleons time have killed billions, for Nation Conquering from within and population reduction. They hired the black hand to kill that one french man what was his name, piere duke of france or something. International banks and war criminals bankrolled hitler, froze Japaneses assets, jailed Japanese Americans, until eventually the japanese "Attacked" us. Read the source links for gulf of tomkin, admitted it was staged on .gov site.

We've been chemically hit and hit hard. The shadow of what you COULD have been, calls out to you.

We will win.
