i voted 1 but then deleted it. that should be noted.

i remember when ytmnd-centric circle jerk trends seemed to [i[maybe[/i] be an issue. these sites often expressed overly meta statements about ytmnd without offering any real criticism. it was like, have a ytmnd reference in the title and post an image that was just silly and mocking. kind of like this site. exactly like this site.

then, the circle jerk tendency was picked up by specific users who created and used the "vote 5 obligation" to perpetuate their own inside joke motives, creating user groups who sought to control what content got onto the main page, whether they were aware of this or not. while they had god, friendly intentions, most were not aware of the damaging effects of their actions. even i am a bit of a guilty participant.

assuming youre a new user, yourdogisnowtheman (which i find hard to believe, no offence), it seems you're going through the new-user motions of learning what sort of content is well received and what causes eyes to roll back into skulls, acompanied by furious 1 star voting. i said before, while you show promise, much of your content seems to be incomplete draft assets, experimental "effects test" type of less-than-final products reflecting blase, detached effort that defeats the personal investment it takes to make the final products you can truly be proud of. many of your sites heavily rely on their titles to to explain what we're about to see. the thing is, the content of the site should show us what we need to know, not the title. titles are always the least important thing. the basic principle behind exposition; the exposing of essential information, showing it, not telling it in titles or text on screen. show us, don't tell us in the title. sorry if i seem to be on a high, critical, better-than-thou horse. i dont know you, so i cant assume youre like me, a coll

I can't argue with that statement, either. I only assumed that you might have been trolling simply because nobody really goes out of their way to reject racism on YTMND, and that seems to be your only agenda. I don't encourage racism. In fact, I've been alt downvoted for speaking against it, so I'm more on your side than you think I am.

As for DarkTree's site, the only thing that I can find racist about it is the domain (unless you want to accuse whatever source the direct rip was taken from). Otherwise, I think it's quite the opposite. It plays into what the YTMND user base would assume the site to be about (which may or may not entail racism--the title doesn't imply anything racist) and pulls a bait-and-switch. The site is actually about the illusion of a never-ending limousine cleverly created by an image loop, and it comes out of nowhere and lasts forever.

The part that I drew inspiration from was this incredibly drawn-out loop that lasts so long that a whole song can play while it loops. In other words, even if you want to call DarkTree's site racist, I didn't apply any part of that site to mine that could possibly be called racist, so your 1 is completely unwarranted.

Don't think that I have a problem with being downvoted because I've gotten plenty used to that already. But you're one of the few who claim to downvote on principle, and I just think you are way off base here. So I guess I'm arguing on behalf of principle as well. I'll also admit, though, that I'm arguing for the sake of arguing because it's rare that I ever have as airtight of a case to argue as this. No offense.

what's sad is that your site here is even less funny than what you're making fun of. see, if you chose to make a critical site or a parody site, you need to make sure that what you're making is funnier and/or smarter than the original site.

also, i'm glad to see this site join the ranks shared by thousands of sites that have a sarcastic title explaining why ytmnd sucks and then you click on it and guess what, it's not funny.

I think the only kind of images that can stretch are those that come from IMG tags or maybe with some wierd css 3 or javascript mumbo jumbo

Anyway, I like your domain grab, your site title and content. Probably one of the best and most interesting recent forgot poland sites recently

Sites with YTMND users in the title or even worse, the content ... are pretty much irrelevant to most viewers. Perhaps its unavoidable since the nature of site is always a mirror reflecting itself (as in fads).

first of all, of course i was trolling rodheh with the rug account. there's not point in called me a troll. i was acting like a troll, yes, but my point was that rodheh takes the troll bait and makes an embarrassment of himself, doing exactly what the troll wants him to do. rodheh should have been the one replying to that comment, but instead you posted a wall of text underneath it about how i am the troll and now it seems everyone missed the point.

and about your site, yes, i was being a dick on the internet so i guess in the most childish defense, yes i was a being a troll and i was wrong. i just didn't like your site. to be perfectly honest, i didn't even know i was logged in to rug. i have multiple accounts that i use to maintain contact with many users. i try not to vote on a site twice and if i do by accident then i correct it. or WHO CARES. i know that's against the "rules" but have you taken a look at the "rules" lately? the rules are supposed to be a joke, guys. lets ta the "rules" posted in site creation. these things are against the "rules" when making a site:

"inside jokes that the majority of the members of YTMND won't understand." that means this site breaks the rules.

"any of the following words in the title or text of the site: OMG, LOL, ROFL, WTF, PWNED, O RLY, OWNED, OMFG, etc." (lol, internet fad? one of the biggest ever??)

"blatant copyright infringement" (ppptttttttt)

"complete lack of creativity, such as straight rips from family guy, the simpsons or any other tv show" (most of us are guilty)

"anime (please, just go to 4chan and get it over with)" (mik3m's entire account)

I'm aware of the acronym practice; it just annoys me, as most of the time, it adds nothing to the site and in fact distracts from it. There are exceptions, such as your YTMND (where it works since the unlikely acronym is the same as the site's) but there is no reason why the title of this site couldn't simply be "My Hair is on Fire".

Fun you mentioned this, I always had this Idea that users or unbiased mods can categorize sites so you can really get into a type of YTMND or find that one funny site that you forgot the name of faster. And if you don't like a fad you can filter it and the title of the site will appear differently (different color or bold/italic etc) on the front page for example.

This can reduce trolling allot.

um, no i did not see any satire because it does not exist here. you do not understand satire. you understand satire about as much as mikstaryo and cliffington88 understand it and try and justify their love of moon man by stating "we're not racist, we're just making fun of a racist character" while producing what can only be interpreted as ultra-racist content because the content itself offer nothing else. i'm sorry, the mere fact you put dead-ytmnd-fad-reference #1019303 "PTKFGS" into your title spoke nothing to me.

you do not understand art. which is why you create things like this
http://www.youtube.com/user/hehfilms#p/u/16/4Fq9WD9X2_w
and
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WBD1GLepeU

which is why you insist on shoving your bullshit "heh" down the throats of people far more versed in media than yourself. "heh," interpreted by you (and only you) to be a "sub-genre" of art, created by someone else who has stated more than once they were copying user wet-toes or whoever.

[i]but keep stroking your twinkstick, giving yourself facials, spritzing on layer upon layer of denial over your eyeballs so you can see the heh, the color rotation, the ambient crap music, the heh[/i]
