Hoorah for all the new crap, but the logo isn't YTMND's style. It looks like a Rockstar's website rather than a humour-based collection of sites.

Take away downvoters' right to vote? Are you insane? It's a vote of no confidence. It's a vote in "this sucks, change it." And that's everybody's f*cking right. Sure, we could all feel happy and sit arond in a five-star circle-jerk, but what's accomplished then? We'd still be stuck on "I BELIEVE YOU HAVE MY KHAN." Sorry you take it so goddamned personally. Here's some math for you to consider. Max five-starred all of like.. what, 120 sites? There's 170,000 sites on YTMND. Do the division. On my calculator, that's such a small f*cking percentage that he considers good that it needs scientific f*cking notation to express that number. No lie. There are users that've made more sites in the past month than I have since 2004. There's been a sh*tty fad conglomerate on the top 5 probably every single day since August. What all of this comes together to mean is that there are too many people making too many terrible sites based on hardly any original ideas. I can't go personally delete them, but...

Max, allow me to allplaud your professionalism in this matter. With your skillful response and your logical challenge based upon facts, you have effectively stood up not only for yourself, but for all of us. I just want you to know how much I personally appreciate it, and that you made YTMND out to be the professional party in this situation.

Sorry for the re-post but the more I read the letter Neil wrote the more pissed I get. Who is he to call us 'terrorists', based on the sole fact that we are part of a website and forum? Who is he to call us all kinds of names and then retract all he said by stating "but eBaum's World Inc lives in the real world, and we are very tolerant and sensitive to the underprivileged and the mentally challenged". Tolerant my @$$, if they cared about the underprivileged he wouldn't talk to us like that. Could I use legal matters since he called me a 'terrorist'? I have family in Iraq and calling me a terrorist honestly does deface my family and my name. I hope this totally backfires on eb.com and I find it disrespectful to personally name someone who is being pursued by legal matters. Max wins.

Watermarking something makes it seem less "user-based" and alot more "submit-maybe shown" and corp. like. I like the good old YTMND we got going now... HURRAY USER BASED!!!

I hate eBaumsworld. Max sure did shut him up and for good I hope. You know, a website based on submissions doesn't have to be bad. It becomes bad when the web owner claims property of the material. For instance, albinoblacksheep is basically like ebaumsworld but nearly all the content gives rightful crediting to the original creator.

Just an idea max, but how about allowing advertisers to purchase bannerspace on YTMND?
I like most all of your ideas.
However, I'd suggest posting in SH/SC over at SomethingAwful some of the coding based ideas so you could get an idea of how feasible it would be to program some of the features you're talking about.
Hell, you might even get some goons to do work for you pro bono.

Auto-deletion based on ratings is a bad idea. There's a lot of very popular YTMNDs that don't have good ratings. I can understand deleting sites that don't get any views, though.

Auto-delete sounds ominous. Maybe base it on views per day w/sites being permanent after 1000 views or something.

Wow, you raise a lot of good points and ideas. I can't suggest anything, because I really don't know how it all works on the inside. The only thing I can suggest is to implement one thing at a time, and based on what takes less or gives more bandwith, per se.

Don't delete sites based on rating. That way all the e-vengers with 50 accounts win. Srsly. Other than that, everything looks great.

Oh, also, I HIGHLY suggest you don't give users privelidges (sp?) based on popularity of sites. You and I both know that 95% of popular sites are total sh*t. I'd say let the moderators have some say in what sites are good, since moderators aren't as f*cking stupid as most YTMND users. Of course, you'll have the final say, but a parliamentary kind of thing would work quite nicely, methinks.

Weighted voting sounds good to me. It would pwn the pwner. :o I would also buy a shirt if you sold more. User levels based on how yours sites have done also sounds interesting. Just make them take past sites into consideration, because I doubt I'll ever have the #1 spot on the top 15 again lol.

i think there should bea system where you can send users feedback based on how they comment on sites. There are a few users that downvote sites regardless of their quality *cough* tehpwner2 *cough*

no net fight here... re: vote weighting... so are some peoples votes going to be worth more based on seniority or by how they vote? or would it be something like you start off only being allowed to vote a certain range and you can 'earn' the right to downvote when you become a regular user? i never could understand the multiple account moderation, how fast people get caught or if the votes they made are truly deleted. sometimes i think , for better or worse, an all paid ytmnd could be in the future, like the SA forums are. it keeps people from making multiple accounts, or abusing the one they have. no matter which direction it goes theres bound to be bugs and problems... my only other concern is that if there are changes in voting, etc that benefits new sites, the old classics will get unfairly buried. que sera sera.

"MAX--- if you're gonna take the Top15 off the front page, why not add a "USER'S FAVORITES" box?
A new top 5 or so of those sites with the most amount of "Voted favorite" designations." Yeah but if it's a daily thing we might have the same problem as with the Top 15: People getting their 5friends to "favorite" their crappy ytmnd onto the main page. What about using the favorites list from the top 100 YTMND users (based on votes)? Just an idea.

Can they really sue for something like.. posting pictures and text, which was already available for the public to see anyways? If Ytmnd is based in america as well as the lawyer from scientology then wouldn't this fall under infringing freedom of press and speech?
