A) Wow I just saw those sites, that was quick o_o B) I thought he would never die. Its ironic, he did so many deadly things and lived then was killed in a freak accident doing something that should have been perfectly safe.

There are a some reasons that I chose the song i did. The song i wanted to use was way to big to work and i couldnt find a smaller version. So I looked thought my audio files and thought of something that may fit and would not make a negative image. Then i found the song because it has to do with the sea....and sadly that is where Steve passed on.

I've learned all those things in Philosophy class. While you do bring up a good point, you still do not answer whether or not it's God. You can propose it was something with certain characterisitcs all you like, but that doesn't mean it's true. Although God may exist, it's possible he does not hold all of the characteristics you proposed. For example, he may be omnipotent (which would allow him to create the universe), but he may not be omniscient and/or omnibenevolent.

Just as newton's laws of gravity apply only in certain circumstances, such as here on earth and under only certain "non-extreme" conditions, so to do the laws of causality function in this way. So, we need to come up with something else to explain how it works in those extreme conditions, just as Einsteins theory of relativity would replace Newton's laws under certain circumstances.

Also, the cosmological argument does not prove that God exists, as the term God carries with it a certain number of characteristics that, unless you are a follower of Spinoza, you would not do without. The first cause argument, if true (not likely), means that something caused the universe to come into existence. That's it. You have no reason to attribute omniscience or omnipotence or anything else to it, and doing so illogically would disrespect the logical conclusions that you attempted...

Also, how can you say that it was definitely a GOD that created the first cause- the effect of which was the universe's existance? God refers to something sentient and aware of what it is doing, doesn't it? Therefore, you suppose that in order to cause the universe something would have had to have actively planned its actions, which is not a logical next step but a total supposition. Does a mud slide plan to kill hundreds of people at the base of a mountain? God can't be proven now and likely never will be.

Not proof enough for me. I also don't believe you proved yourself at all when you said that God didn't have to be created by something/someone previous, since God is absolutely NOTHING like Washington and there would be no way to compare them. I still do not particularly believe, I remain agnostic.

This was a good try to blend science with religion but i see it as flawed. You use the law of causality to say that everything that comes to be has a sufficient prior cause. You then say that there was was a first cause (that started it all) but according to the law that is incorrect. God would have had to have something before him that would have caused him. You use a Scientific law then exempt what you call the first cause. doing so you just broke the law making this assumption impossible.

If you honestly believe steve irwin "had it coming", then you are a dumbsh*t. For the most part, deadly animals are only deadly to dumbasses who have no idea to handle these animals. For god's sake, automobiles kill more people worldwide every year than deadly animals do. And most of us here are in a car everyday. Why? Because we take precautions to protect us, even in the face of something that could very well be considered deadly. He did the same. If there was ever a d oubt about the safety of Steve OR the animal, the shoot would simply not be done. Steve was never reckless with his job, and took it very seriously.

Hats off for you. You are honest, not flaming anybody and really, really smart and wise. Sounds like you were guided by the Holy Spirit or something! :D
After some time, I realised that people that say "God doesn't exist" are ignorant people. They don't understand that atheism is a belief. They canno't prove the unexistance of God.
Anyways, you have brought a lot of good with this thing, believe me. Even if some didn't start thinking on this matter after this, when they will, they will remember this.
And people who won't, know that God is out there and are afraid of that. That makes them to fight against that.
I would also like to say that there will be always people that won't like what you are doing. But don't stop. You make a difference. A good one!

And cyberen, whether you believe in prayer or not, I just wanted to stress that the effect of this on Steve's family is something we all should give pause to consider right now. There are those out there who believe in prayer, and if you do, now would certainly be the time for it. But to each his own. I also included the link to donations for those who wish to respond in that way.

This is one of the more intelligent arguments, so nothing I say is bashing really. I do have one argument/question though. Let's rule out the universe as meaning time space and matter and instead as the expanding body that did indeed begin. Yes, the body began, but if it is expanding, would it not have to have something to expand into? The best analogy I have is to compare it to fire, but it's hardly sufficient. I don't claim to be knowing enough to truly take on your theory, but this was all I asked. By the way, although it's logical, there are multiple logical explanations to lots of individual issues, that doesn't make them right.

"KingD: Remember, we win if we are rejected in His name. We win if others laugh and
mock us. We win when people say we're lunatics and curse us in His name. We win." EXACTLY PROVING MY EARLIER POINT. It's always about PRIDE, PRIDE, PRIDE. It's not really about learning and doing what's best to help your fellow man, is it? In the end, you follow your faith because you want to WIN. You say you help other humans because you're good, but the reality is clear: You do it because you believe you will be rewarded for it in an afterlife. Because it would be stupid to help others if you don't get something in return, right? :/

ummm, i'd rather you do something useful for society one hour a day. Idk, like mentor a kid or something. Or build a house. Volunteer at the hospital. Idk, something that ACTUALLY makes a difference. Praying really doesn't help. Just ask Terry Schiavo. Good intentions and everything like that give you a 3, but real help would be more appreciated than pray-help (which isn't really help at all). Also, I live in the richest country on the planet, I'm sure someone else would need "prayers" more than me.

at least Whetstone stood for something. he took a side and fought for it. you don't have the balls to do that. because you know deep down inside your puny heart that if you were to take a stand, yoru viewpoint, no matter how solid you believe it to be, would be subject to the same amount of criticism and scrutiny from the other side. the real conclusion that nobody seems to want to accept here is this: science and logic can't even begin to wrap themselves around the concept of an almighty God.

Well, man kind is doomed one way or another, why not with a bang, or anti-bang as an implosion may be. It's like something you'd read in a Sci-Fi novel, like what happened to Earth in Dan Simmon's Hyperion. Would they bother to do it if their equations aren't exact and *could* create a blackhole that would doom this planet?

"Christ came to one region, to one area. A distinctive cultural phenomenon."
Very good point Wolfson. Except that I think that supports our message. Had Christ not risen from the dead and been the source of salvation, there's no way He would have been as influential as He is. He only preached in public for a few short years, in a small area, without much of a following in His time, yet He has become without question the most influential person throughout history. It takes something like rising from the dead to do that.
