YTMND Search

Fun you mentioned this, I always had this Idea that users or unbiased mods can categorize sites so you can really get into a type of YTMND or find that one funny site that you forgot the name of faster. And if you don't like a fad you can filter it and the title of the site will appear differently (different color or bold/italic etc) on the front page for example.<br /><br />This can reduce trolling allot.

Yes, almost every designer has mentioned that, and it's always been an issue. Wall of text is not nearly as visually appealing as thumbnails.<br /><br />I've always been somewhat sentimental for only knowing the title when you view a YTMND versus having an image which might give away a joke. I may offer some sort of option to allow you to use a default image if you don't want to give it away. Not sure yet.

I find 99% of Fourest and Fearcondom's sites to be crappy and offensive, but I still think they should have the right to make them.<br /><br />If someone wants to make lame artfag sites, whatever, I don't have to like them but they don't have to stop making them. Similarly, if someone wants to make 10,000 identical square wave/ear rape/naked cartoon character sites, whatever, live and let live. I don't even particularly care for those kinds of sites (for example the AAAAAAAAAAA wrestler scream sites, they were all the same, I thought they were funny at first and even later on I would upvote one if I thought it had a funny title or something, but I mostly just ignored them).<br /><br />Let people make whatever damn sites they want, is what I'm saying. No one has the right to decide which sites are "good" or "bad", it's all based on how they personally are received by each individual.

Everyone has their opinions about Lego, fourest, and fearcondom (who has been gone for I don't know how long), but when it comes down to it, they post decent material, quality stuff you probably wouldn't find too easily on other websites. <br /><br />Something quirky about a particular topic:<br />[site hossenfeffer:site]<br /><br />Film and gaming:<br />[site confident:site]<br /><br />Something completely bizarre:<br />[site rainbowremix:site]<br /><br />Someone who knows nothing about YTMND, who happens to have any of the above be the first site they ever see, is likely to continue to click other YTMNDs. If they are unfortunate enough to pick one of your WTC7 gifs with a misleading title, they'll think this site is run by fucking retarded conspiracy theorists and never come back. The up and coming isn't perfect, but there's a much better chance that something good is there, more so than the recently created. <br /><br />I shouldn't be one to talk about great content, as I'm no expert YTMND maker, but I'm not gonna stay quiet when a jealous lizard with zero site making skills is trashing users who clearly excel in making YTMNDs. <br /><br />The old layouts are dated. The current one is fine, other than the placement issues I mentioned above.
