There is a lot of important stuff written on these bathroom walls of the internet. A lot of important memories. Even if someone made a fancier, more modern version of the app, without the database, without the content, you'd lose those memories. You'd lose some crazy fad-lover's magnum opus, ya know?<br /><br />I don't know max that well. I asked him to play D&D with me once and he sounded ambivalent.<br /><br />But I'll tell max on Discord that I'd like to write a social media app in Laravel 10. If he wants he can be in charge of the project. If he's not interested, I'll just make it for the fun of it. And I'll post it to GitHub with the MIT license and anyone can check it out and use what parts they like. But if max lets me know the structure of ytmnd's database, I will base the data models on that structure so hopefully he could just import his database into it. I don't know where max stores his image files and stuff. I'll write the app to store them in AWS S3.<br /><br />There are other content-sharing sites, sure. But I don't know of any that have as many famery-gais and darthwangs. I just want a place for us to have a group to post jokes to.<br /><br />And I will say this, if I make another site, or if max made me boss of ytmnd, I would label things better so there's less uncovered NSFW stuff. But I will chill out about moon crew. If some moon dude wants to make sites, I won't ban them. Hate cannot drive out hate.

You know, I can program. Like I know Php, MySQL, modern frameworks, junk like that. And max seems like maybe he doesn't care about ytmnd at this point. Like he stopped caring a long time ago.<br /><br />If I made a similar kind of content-sharing platform, with a few more modern features, what would you think about that? Would you want to try posting content somewhere else?

You know, for a while, a couple of years ago, max invited me to the private developer channel where he hangs out in Discord. You know what he's doing in there? Mostly talking about video games with his buddies, from what I saw.<br /><br />And I love max. All of us that enjoyed ytmnd have him to thank. But with great power comes great spiderman stuff. You want the youth of the early 2000's to fall in love with what you're doing? You gotta put in the effort. If you don't believe in yourself, if you blow it off, you're kinda going to break a lot of hearts.

I was just telling a modder from England in Discord: <br /><br />Years ago, I made a web cartoon on there called Groarnak. It was kind of a small hit. Some random dude asked me for the rights to use it in a video game. I thought he was a troll but I said yes. Flash forward to the Fallout 4 and the Grognak the Barbarian thing in it, which seems to me to resemble Groarnak. Like Groarnak was a barbarian on Mars. I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy.
