The Powerpuff Girls is an American superhero animated television series created by animator Craig McCracken and produced by Hanna-Barbera (later Cartoon Network Studios) for Cartoon Network. The show centers on Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, three kindergarten-aged girls with superpowers. They live in the fictional city of Townsville with their father and creator, a scientist named Professor Utonium, and are frequently called upon by the city's mayor to help fight nearby criminals and other enemies using their powers. While attending his second year at CalArts in 1992, McCracken created a short film, Whoopass Stew!, about a trio of child superheroes known as the Whoopass Girls, which was only shown at festivals. Genocyber: The Beauty Devil from Psychic World is a 1992 Japanese manga series by Tony Takezaki. One volume of the manga has been published, but the multi-volume story arc remains unfinished. The published book was adapted by Koichi Ohata into a five-part original video animation (OVA) series in 1994. The plot of the anime differs significantly from the manga. Both are notable for their extreme graphic violence. The OVA was produced by Bandai Visual and released in North America by U.S. Manga Corps. Genocyber was also released by Manga Entertainment's UK and Australian Divisions in The Cyberpunk Collection but only episodes 1-3 were released in these regions; this collection also included two other cyberpunk OVAs, Cyber City Oedo 808 and A.D. Police Files. The remaining two parts were not released into English until U.S. Manga Corp obtained the rights and had Central Park Media dub the remaining two episodes that were not dubbed by Manga UK.

Princess Yona/Lena/Rina is the titular protagonist of the manga and anime series, Akatsuki no Yona. She is the Crown princess of Kouka Kingdom, the sole heiress of Emperor Il and Queen Kashi, as well as the reincarnation of King Hiryuu. Yona had a sheltered, pampered upbringing, but her comfortable and luxurious lifestyle completely changed when she witnessed her father's murder by her beloved cousin Soo-Won, who usurped the throne to become king. She was consequently forced to flee Hiryuu Castle with her childhood friend and bodyguard Hak and travel to the Wind Tribe for safety. Eventually Yona and Hak, with Son Mundok's guidance, sought out the Priest Ik-Su, who then advised them to find the Four Dragons, who founded the country 2000 years ago, to assist them in their mission. Yona, with her newfound, burning resolve to live and to protect those dear to her, traveled throughout the kingdom to find the legendary Dragon Warriors, who helped her find a new purpose and meaning in friendship. Along the way, Yona undertook training in archery and swordsmanship with Hak. Throughout her journey, Yona started to realize that her father was not a king widely loved by his people due to his apparent cowardice and desire to maintain peace and avoid conflict at all costs, even if it would mean weakening Kouka Kingdom. She began to understand that Soo-Won had usurped the throne to fix King Il's mistakes and to turn Kouka into a powerful nation. However, she too decided to protect her father's people in his stead and to make amends in some way in her position as princess. Along the way, she changed from a sweet but naive girl, to a fearless and toughened warrior, while still maintaining grace, compassion and integrity.

Nagisa Shiota is the main protagonist and narrator of Assassination Classroom. He is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School who has a natural talent for assassination despite his overall passive nature. Nagisa is the son of Hiromi Shiota and her presumable ex-husband. His mother had hoped for a daughter so she could experience all the things she had missed as a child through her but got a son instead. As a result, she dictated his life from forcing him to keep his hair long, to being forced to cross-dress and verbally abused him whenever he spoke against her. Her personality also caused her husband to leave her and Nagisa. Nagisa was in Class D during his first two years of middle school before falling into Class 3-E due to poor grades. During those two years, he hung out with fellow classmate Karma Akabane, although they slowly drifted apart before becoming classmates again. Soon after starting the new term as a Class E student, Nagisa met Kaede Kayano, who gave him what would become his signature pigtails instead of the ponytail he usually uses to keep his long hair from being less noticeable, thus beginning their friendship.
