Princess Yona/Lena/Rina is the titular protagonist of the manga and anime series, Akatsuki no Yona. She is the Crown princess of Kouka Kingdom, the sole heiress of Emperor Il and Queen Kashi, as well as the reincarnation of King Hiryuu. However, she too decided to protect her father's people in his stead and to make amends in some way in her position as princess. Along the way, she changed from a sweet but naive girl, to a fearless and toughened warrior, while still maintaining grace, compassion and integrity.

Shin is a former dragon who has taken on human form. They can appear as either male or female. Their height is 2 meters (79 inches). This is their usual appearance. They can also have long hair. Shin always has a blank expression but is generally in a good mood. They have a calm personality, are interested in humans, and view them relatively favourably. Shin's strength is the greatest among dragons. Approaching them carelessly might result in injury. Since the period after Shin took on human form has been short, they appear somewhat out of touch with the world. It seems they don't wear underwear either. This is Shin during their childhood. Shin does not remember why they transformed from a dragon into a human, nor do they know how to revert to their dragon form. Although they have lived for about a thousand years, they have lost most of their memories. This is their half-dragon form.
