The only sonic cartoon that had knuckles in it was sonic underground (and nobody watched that one anyway)...
Anyway, truth be told, Knuckles isn't much of an Echidna either. Echidnas are austrailian anteater like... things. they have no teeth and they have an anteater like snout. Furthermore, their the other only mamal to lay eggs.
