we've only just begun

not much in the way of news. this will be the last post, feel free to post your final comments/memories.
On a side note my finger has fully healed, but i seem to have at least semi-permanent nerve damage which makes coding nearly impossible for the time being.
I've touched up my resume and am now actively looking for a job in the NYC area, so if you know anyone that is hiring, feel free to shoot me a message.
The private message system will be up for at least a week, so hit people up if you want to trade contact information. I'll update this news post once I finish the export tool. Other than that, I wish you all the best.
Over and out,
-Max

Looking for a job in the NYC area? Are you on crack max? Stay the hell away from NY completely. This state is going to hell in hand basket even more so the city. The court system is a joke. There are more crooks in public office than are in the prison system. The police and meter maids are a laugh. Rents, gas, mass transit, bridge tolls, parking tickets, grocery prices and taxes are skyrocketing. Now there might be congestion pricing. The only thing this place has got that's decent are the firemen.
The interwebz shall never be the same. Farewell, YTMND, in all your glory.
Some of us, myself included, could say we've seen better days, when the forums weren't TOTALLY filled with sh*t, sites weren't hacked, and sh*tty sites were never viewed. When our problems were Downvoters and eBaum and we teamed up against them. When new fads arose every week, and everyone loved coming here. YTMND is probably the best example of the internet I know, and I will miss it dearly.

Even if this turns out to be a false alarm, my words still stand. This site was with me through good times and bad, and was responsible for a lot of my good times spent in front of the computer over the past 2 years. YTMND is/was pretty much the best place to poke fun at the absurdities of pop culture, and the best place to revel in mindless nostalgia with like minded pals.
But the fun didn't stop there. Who knew that animated gifs could be so detailed and expressive? Who knew that a site founded on uploading dumb pictures and movie quotes would end up housing some of the most funny, creative, and intelligent peeps on the internet? The anarchic nature of this site allowed it to pretty much be a dumping ground for the bowels of the internet (which is also is, of course), but it's the high caliber of regulars that made this such an overall quality and entertaining place to be.
I can see Max being tired of YTMND. But I can't see him destroying this place. I just can't see this place going for good now. If only there had been a real team to work YTMND into a truly self-sustaining state. Then Max could go off and venture into new projects and we wouldn't have to lose everything we stood for and created here. We had Syncan, but he wasn't going to keep working for free. Things could have been done months, even years ago, back when YTMND was at its most popular/powerful.
I will never forget Brian Peppers, lol,Internet,Cosby,Pokemon!,PTKFGS!,Happy Cat,And soooooo many more!Over the years I have bonded with many users such as syncan,bomaga,fyrestorm,DZK,money-Hat and many more!I will miss you all and I will never forget the site I always went to when I needed a good laugh,no matter what.
I'm trying to look on the bright side of this, thinking that I can now move on to a much larger file size limit on YouTube... But to be honest, people on YouTube are idiots. They don't understand sarcasm and most of them never create anything at all. Instead, some of them can upload a scene from Family Guy and then instantly think that they won the Internet. Have any of you ever seen the comments on Keaton's YouTube profile? Almost every other day someone asks for his Sparta song,
damn, it looks like this wasnt really a joke. this sucks, this was the only site on the interwebs that would make me laugh everytime i visited it, and it was one of the few bright spots in my life.
I don't know why youre shutting it down Max, but thanks for the website, I've had so many good laughs.

It is written...
As (and if) YTMND is expelled from the internet
over 9000 sites mimicking ytmnd's format (if there arent already enough) will pop up
causing division by zero by the amount of Unoriginal content that will flood those sites
If you guys have seen the IRC message from max saying "the funniest part of this all is that people think its an april fools prank" might mean that he will shut the site down,
but because it was on 4/1 its hard to believe, LETS SEE HOW THIS GOES OUT

If this is real, I'd like to say as a long-time lurker, this site brightened up some otherwise sh*tty days for me. Recently, I've met some cool people in IRC from here, some of whom actually like me. Thanks to Dascoot, Fourest, Juxtapose, Kassius, Fearcondom, AndySavage, CreepPipe, ROY4L, Keaton, MasterSitsu, Chav-Slayer and many others for your a$$-kickin' YTMNDs, and all the memories. Poland. Also c*cks.
YTMND is little different from how it was back in the day. There is still quality, and still Hilarity. If you now think it's doomed to die, then it is your own perception of YTMND that has changed, not its quality. Unless you have always thought it was doomed to die, in which case you would be wrong.
It is very sad to see this place go. This was a place where one could come and go and leave with tears in their eyes from the hilarious and artisic views of the YTMND-er's. Despite I wasen't a very active YTMND-er when it came to making pages, I know that I'll miss it. Freedom of speech is an important thing these days and this site proves it. To see many new pages being made of "The End" and such is key to the fact that this site is kickass. It's like random, endless, hilarious poetry.

YTMND hasn't been good in ages, and I don't even come here anymore, so I don't really care if this this a prank or not. The only funny users were Keaton, Murdarmachene, Kassius (though I hate to say it), DarthWang, and Click. The rest of it, especially since NSFW sites were disabled on the front page, has been obvious bullsh*t. Even 4chan is funnier than YTMND nowadays. I just kind of regret investing so much money in this sinking ship of a website.
Okay, start the sob music as I say my farewells...
I waited a day or so to see if it was just a sick joke; it seems as if this is for real. YTMND, for the past 4 3 years for me has equaled the internet. Ever since I clicked on that link for the “George Bush DOES care about black people” ytmnd, I’ve been hooked. I got into a fair amount of flame wars with users (hey, who hasn’t?), and I’ll admit that probably about 60% of my sites were total bullsh*t. But the other 40 or so percent…? Priceless, a digital,
21st century work of art. The same goes for the entire community; it f*cked up a lot, but when it did something well, it f*cking ruled. Assuming that max isn’t just drawing this out for his own sick pleasure, I’m going to really miss this place. I mean, where else could I find a bunch of people who knew what “N*GG* STOLE MY BIKE!” and “Safety Not Guarantied” were? Also, to add insult to injury, what’s my new homepage going to be? Ytmnd, you shall be missed.
