Long Live Rock (A Tribute)
Created on: March 29th, 2007
This is meant as a semi-humorous tribute to great dead musicians ('cept John Denver, hate that guy). They're all awesome and I wish I could have met them.

Next update will fix the errors caused by this update (my ImageReady is being very buggy, whenever I save some text disappears /sigh), and will add blues musicians interspersed (Elmore James, Lead Belly, John Lee Hooker, etc.). And I think I'll exchange Mozart for Beethoven (he is after all the roots of rock). Was only using Mozart as a "wtf?" moment anyways.
5'd just for being TV'sFrank. Though, not to stir up trouble, I think the circumstances of Jimi's death were slightly different than those of Bonham's. Both died, technically, in their sleep, but I think Jimi overdosed while Bonham choked. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, the point being here is that you get a 5.
Also, Syd Barrett, Roger Water's credibility and sense of shame, and Shannon Hoon. I'm not saying Shannon Hoon was influential, but he's one of the few rock stars the AdCouncil think people still remember and use for their anti-drug ads. Nobody remembers Shannon Hoon quite like the people who want to exploit death to save some kids. Am I right?
Did you know that John Denver defended the likes of Twisted Sister and other such band in court when Al Gore's retarded wife called them up on charges of "attempting to incite indecent thoughts and disturb the mind of our youth"? He was a huge advocate of free speech, especially in music. But at least you included him, and you may have your opinion, so take your 5.
It got started as alphabetical, got f*cked up by suddenly going alphabetical via first name, then well lost most of it's order.
I think I'll do a continuation using the song I originally wanted to use for this. I'm bored and feeling quasi-creative lately, but not creative enough to figure out what to do a waterocolor of.
5 for Bonham, John Lennon, Elvis. I suggest:
Buddy Holly, J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper) and Richie Valens, 02/03/1959 (ages varied): "The Day the Music died."
