did you know that Wells uses a lot water images. Snow, water, and rain. This water imagery is used to signify a memory a past event that is a source of comfort for the character in the present, such as the snow globe. Welles uses deep focus photography. This allows for everything in a shot to be in focus. Deep focus gives the viewers a lot of choices of what to look at in a shot. He also uses shots which are longer than in a typical movie.
Good Lord, I take it back. Is that's all your teacher does? Dictate to the class how to interpret the movie? Any any point are you allowed to discuss what the movie is actually about? I was an English major, we actually had a chance to discuss the books we read. I always assumed film classes were the same way. Good Lord.
I did think it was silly saying less 'than any other film ever'. I can think of many films with less close ups, take something like Batpussy, or an Imax movie like Encounters in the 3rd Dimention, no close ups in that. Also Citizen Kane isn't that great a film, it's very good but not 'best film eva', as a film tutor would say
As a High School Senior, here's what I'm going to expect in college thanks to this ytmnd and these comments:
1. Every college has rooms that all look alike, whether it's UVA, RIT, Penn State, or Temple, they all look the same.
2. Even if you're the only one in the class who brings a laptop, nobody else will seem to care or notice.
3. To some, college is a waste, to others, the last frontier of getting some with total ease
4. Contrary to popular belief, people do not get tazed that often
You know, I find people take turns. You may have 6 people who have all of the same classes as you, but only 1 laptop will be seen in each class at a time, and each time, it's somebody different. At least, at the beginning of the year. And then as the semester goes on and people realize nobody gives a sh*t what you bring to class, there are at least 2 laptops added. Cept Tazers.
My professors would always look at me funny because of the bigass briefcase I'd bring to class that was actually a desktop inside of it with a flat panel display, and at the two boundary microphones I had sticking out of my desk. And no, the battery life on it was actually about 4 - 5 hours, depending on which side of the desk I was leaning.
