so the joke is that ytmnd users insist they are funny but they are wrong. they are not funny. or, it could mean that ytmnd is funny to a ytmnd user, but when someone who is not familiar with ytmnd watches a site joke, they don't understand it so it's not funny to them. Whoopi Goldberg (Goldberg!) represents ytmnd. data the android represents a normal person because like a normal person, data is not familiar with Goldberg's jokes (see what i did there?).

congratulations. now lets talk about you.
you made the site, the ytmnd home site, and you thought it was funny. you were like Whoopi Goldberg (Goldberg!). now, i'm like data because i don't find your whore ass funny. i don't find your tied up penis funny. i don't like the way your dick stinks.

I don't know if I would describe myself like this. Yes, I have a college degree, but I am talking about people with masters degrees and other more advanced things.

I also don't really consider most ytmnd users to be inferior unless they are really egregiously stupid or obnoxious. I only know a good amount of information on a handful of them anyway, so I don't have too much basis for judging.

I'm just curious: how many moderators does YTMND have that are active, if any?

There's no doubt that the community's quality has gone down. From any perspective if it's not x user who thinks x user(s) are the problem, it's the other way around. People have different tastes and different ideas as to what YTMND should be, so it seems to me the most effective way to make the community better is simply to reduce redundant banter and argumentative users who are pricks on a daily or near daily basis - this is a small group of people, among a not so large group of total active users.

Of course, what constitutes someone being a prick is also a variable. Long, recurring troll discussions between two or more who always go at it as being one that most people would agree on. I'm sure there are rules that cover a portion of this sort of thing and that's led to some of the more volatile, non-contributing members (who need not be named) being comment banned, account banned, possibly IP banned (if that has been done). Then of course there's the very obvious moon crew shit which personally seems to have dwindled, however it seems for anyone who posts a generic moon crew site, an IP ban is in order.

I'm not sure how the site will evolve from this point, but I know that behavior has been a detracting factor firsthand from various users (mik3m, comradvolk and myself just to name a few). The back and forth thing is an obvious byproduct of all this, and I'm not talking about YTMND transients like Umfuld who actually makes sites, says things in jest and is at best grumpy from time to time, more so those who seek to start shit. On occasion, this place is sometimes comparable to 4chan.

So with all that said, would it be in the best interest of YTMND to give well-behaved, legacy members who are still active possible moderator jobs? People like Ochobobo come to mind. Many might decline it but I'd assume some would be happy to take the position.

Everyone has their opinions about Lego, fourest, and fearcondom (who has been gone for I don't know how long), but when it comes down to it, they post decent material, quality stuff you probably wouldn't find too easily on other websites.

Something quirky about a particular topic:
[site hossenfeffer:site]

Film and gaming:
[site confident:site]

Something completely bizarre:
[site rainbowremix:site]

Someone who knows nothing about YTMND, who happens to have any of the above be the first site they ever see, is likely to continue to click other YTMNDs. If they are unfortunate enough to pick one of your WTC7 gifs with a misleading title, they'll think this site is run by fucking retarded conspiracy theorists and never come back. The up and coming isn't perfect, but there's a much better chance that something good is there, more so than the recently created.

I shouldn't be one to talk about great content, as I'm no expert YTMND maker, but I'm not gonna stay quiet when a jealous lizard with zero site making skills is trashing users who clearly excel in making YTMNDs.

The old layouts are dated. The current one is fine, other than the placement issues I mentioned above.

Because I somentimes dislike the actions, content and comments of certain users to the point where I might selectively punnish them more frequently than I would someone I like who might break the same rules.

I try to be as fair and honest as I can, but I recognize that I can't always be because I'm a little judgmental at times.

Sometimes I catch it and correct it. Like I used to give PDE a hard time because I didn't like that how he talked over his sites. Later I realized I was just being a twat and stopped.

I think the best way for me to avoid passing judgment prematurely is to not have any power over anyone.

now, lets examine these:

http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager#prefix=susie&sw=f&am
p;exact=false

seems like the name Susie dropped in popularity before somebody added Q after the name, or maybe the invention of the phonograph lead to this name to drop in popularity.

let's also examine this:

http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager#prefix=thomas&sw=m&am
p;exact=false

seems like the name Thomas spiked in popularity after Leonard Cohen's birth, but then it seemed to drop in popularity when FM radio was first invented.

http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager#prefix=tom&sw=m&a
mp;exact=false

and it look like the name Tom also took a NOSEDIVE in popularity after Leonard Cohen released his Suzanne song.

well, I see lots of reasons why the names Tom, and Susan(ne) go HAND IN HAND!

I mean, the Gutmans in the move What About Bob? Mr. Gutman was portrayed by somebody named Tom, and Mrs. Gutman was portrayed by somebody named Susan, top this off with highway 711 going through Smith Moutain Lake Virginia, which was the actual location for filming used to portray Lake Winnipesaukee.

I think that taking the time to read my comments is INTENSE PSYCHO THERAPY for some users who are against me on YTMND.

7 Eleven is codeword for CONVENIENCE, seeing as "mother of the MP3" was born on the same day as "free slurpee day", and thats why I feel there's something therapeutic about this who Suzanne experience on YTMND when talking about some connections that the movie What About Bob has to all this.

I find it so sad that lots of users on YTMND who wish for good users to be banned (or have accounts deleted) don't even have much respect for the KEY PLAYERS in the development of audio technology.

here's a list of KEY PLAYERS in the development of audio technology:

Ray Dolby

Tom Dolby , Ray's son

Thomas Dolby, not the same as Ray's son, but he blinded us with science

Suzanne Vega, singer/songwriter, mother of the MP3

Karlheinz Branderburg, developed the MP3 file format using the sample of Vega's song Tom's Diner

Steve Wozniak, founder of Apple

George Lucas, founder of Lucasfilm, and partially responsible for developing THX

Amar Bose (founder of Bose)....

and what do ya know, I read this Wikipedia article...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amar_Bose

and I see that Bose's founder Amar Bose died one day after Suzanne Vega's 54th birthday! who knew so many coincidences would occur, 1977 was not only the year that Three's Company debuted on TV, but the same year that Saturday Night Fever was first shown in Theaters. And Studio 54 was the famous club that Disco music was known to be played in during the 1970s. July 11th was Vega's birthday, and 7 x 11 = 77, 1977, the year I'm talking about. And well, if Amar Bose were to live longer in 2013, he would have been 84 years old that year, and 1984 was a big year for events too, the Macintosh, Three's Company ends it's run, Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, Wham's Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, Prince's Purple Rain.

Another interesting thing about 1977, the year that the first Star Wars movie got released, produced by George Lucas, the founder of THX,

his name is George Luka, he lives on the second floor!
