At that point, I forgot that real human tragedy and deep trauma behind the account names and keyboards always drives even the most obnoxious behaviors. I mean, really, can you possibly imagine the scale of abject pathos necessary to be DarthWang? or Uncircumcised? or that barely sentient idiot from Michigan that swooped into shitposting on ytmnd via a dozen+ alt accounts like an army of Trekkies attacking a truckload of Funyuns? I regularly crossed the line into being exactly as destructive as those that were ruining this place. And you caught a lot of my [subsequent] hypocrisy, as I resorted to my own base instincts and cruelty, taking twisted pleasure in wrecking the experiences of those wrecking the experiences of others. I shouldn't have done that, for many reasons, not the least of which is that it was some basic bitch shit. I come armed with much more ammo than madDogSoldier could ever fathom. Prairiedogeric10, as obnoxious and obsequious as he was, was still just a [dumb] kid. Whatever high ideals I started with when I began to mock the idiots, intending--albeit unproductively--to drive shitty users away, I eventually capitulated to the idiocy myself. The only way to out-troll a troll is to be an even bigger asshole, which is precisely why the more effective method to rid a community of its trolls is to instead ignore them 100%. So, today I visit YTMND for the first time in a decade. I say to myself, let's see what kind of sites people make these days. I almost click the top YTMND in Up and Coming, but then notice this Tra-La-La-based YTMND at #3. <br /><br />Pairing LAW with Tra-La-La is not only absolute genius but I feel like I have time traveled to 2006. This is such a great feeling that I make a fresh account to give this YTMND 5 stars, only to discover it's made by DarthWang. Darth, I have no idea why you are still on this site making YTMND mashups of 15 year old memes, but I salute you.

It might be easier to mix audio with the sample-based SNES chip than those gritty NES square waves. Nothing against the MMX games, but MMII is one of the best OSTs of all time.

ytmnd.com will be shutting down soon, it's google adsense revenue is twice as low in 2016 when max wrote the article<br /><br />according to alexa it had a huge dip from september to october and now it's november and based on Alexa the dip is massive.<br /><br /><br />max will have to pay just that much more of out pocket to continue hosting this website<br />and there is a way to download offline ymtnds but he won't do that.<br /><br /><br />even the archiveteam is complaning his site is way to large to back up without them being paid pretty much the same as he pays to keep the site hosted, he will most likely archive ytmnd up till 2008, or only popular sites.<br /><br />theres no way in hell this entire site can be backed up without max paying an arm and a leg

if you ask me, the site died because users don't fully understand reasons to use YTMND instead of YouTube, even if I write a 1000 word essay about why the MP3 file format, the file format that YTMND sites depend on for audio, even exists in the first place, and not to mention the 1000 word essays I write about some of our favorite songs being blocked by acoustic fingerprinting bots on YouTube, seeing as YTMND doesn't have those bots to block MP3 files based on the acoustic fingerprinting of it's content, although YTMND blocks MP3 files based on their filesize, that's if their filesize exceed 8 megabytes of binary data.<br /><br />we really gotta keep our descriptions short, but it's hard to keep them short when we try to educate users on reasons to use YTMND instead of YouTube.

I know max doesn't really care about the site anymore, but I would honestly empty my bank account to keep this site online. We still have a few more years based on the whois data, but there's just way too much history here to risk losing. YTMND was a very big part of my life and it should be preserved for generations.

As I am unable to determine who or where exactly the potential alt or collusion downvoting is coming from, I am attempting to restore any downvotes on the account "SusanTrepid" by upvoting the most recent comment section. It is clear that I came to a presumptuous decision regarding the direction of the comment downvotes based purely on assumptions.<br /><br />If Max does return to sort out this potential downvote issue (assuming it is alt based,) that will be the adequate course of action to remedy any possible issues. I think it was about a year ago, in 2015, that I tried Super Mario 64 again. This time, I wanted to be a supreme master at the game. I wanted to read the novel text to text. I wanted to remeber every single line and piece of information the game had to offer. In doing so, the journey ended up becoming two speedrun sessions to 70 stars and beating bowser. The first time it took me about 2 and a half hours. I started at 5PM, and ended at 7:43PM. The next day or so, I tried another speedrun, and got 2 hours. It was at 6PM, ended at 8:06PM. My average therfor is about 2 hours. Wow. With enough mastery, the game can be accomplished in two hours. Two hours! If the game file had a time, the time commited as a child till teenager would of been something like 50+ hours.<br /><br />I have now mastered Super Mario 64 and know the maze. The treasure hunt for stars is fun. There has been no other game like it. Super Mario Sunshine tried to emulated it. It was more advance are based around grahpics. Too hard. Super Mario 64 was the first of it's kind. Low-tech. An embrassing windows 95 game. Something caught in the 90's zeitgist.

Well, the "archiveteam" project mention on both their website and on the Gizmodo pointed out that the entire database and file set are going to be backed up. The question just comes down to if we can actually access it or not.<br /><br />If you have YTMNDs that are important, list it on this one and I'll add it to my collection of stuff. I'd also recommending backing it up yourself as well by saving the page and assets directly. You can recreate it without too much problem (HTML page, pictures, sound, HTML5 tags, and some javascript.)<br /><br />Another part of the battle is to (and yes, I know I go on about this A LOT) open source YTMND's entire repository. This would allow the current version and prior versions to be accessible for us to extend as well. Moot open sourced his Canvas and DrawQuest code bases not that long ago, if YTMND goes down, I see no reason why YTMND should disappear completely.
