I've always believed that the only thing significant in the universe is the individual unto itself. Meaning is personal and only resides inside a person's own mind. Meaning isn't a universal, divine altruism. It's a chemical reaction in the brain that gives an organism a sense of well-being. For most people, as you pointed out, meaning requires some kind of eternal validation such as a god, a soul or everlasting spirit that exists outside the body. And without this validation, most people do feel despair, that all their experiences and legacies are for not. But I disagree with that notion. I embrace nothingness and find comfort in the idea that nothing matters outside my own perceptions. Whether I do "good", or whether I do "bad", I will not be judged at some pearly gate to be rewarded or punished for an eternity. However, I am still grateful for my temporary, meaningless existence and I find it absolutely fascinating that the universe, through random chaos and epochs of time, formed this body with a brain that allows the universe to know about itself - if only abstractly and for a brief moment in time. A person should not despair that the world will end when it is swallowed by the sun or destroyed by an asteroid, eliminating our progeny, should we not colonize the outer reaches. A person should not despair that their brain's death extinguishes their consciousness forever. A person should only despair if they are in pain, or starving or if someone they love is in pain through empathy. While I find religion amusing and ridiculous, I am also grateful for it's existence, as we would probably not be civilized without it. Religion has given hope to and controlled the behavior of what would otherwise been savage anarchy. But with the NSA and other modern technologies, behavior control no longer needs religion. So rejoice my meaningless brethren, for tomorrow we die.

Be more funny by saying something retarded, only in a shorter post. The bullshit to payoff ration isn't worth it.

^ A few things. I understand why people, including yourself may feel this way about him. This is not a new thing. I have known people would feel this way since I first heard of him back in 2010. But this is more for conspiracy theory stuff than religion.

But religious fundamentalism is kind of normal in the states (but not like it used to be), especially if west of the Hudson river. I remember hearing various times from people like Dawkins, Hitchens and various psychologists how people become strongly religious is through childhood fear and indoctrination. Then as adults, peoples defense mechanisms

For example, I think we can both agree that a 5 year old has less ability to know a claim about an eternal hot scary place is nonsense than a 20 year old does (assuming they both are hearing it for the first time).

After that 5 year old hears the claim from those he/she loves and trusts, the instincts of that child is to follow and believe. It is an evolutionary survival mechanism. They want to believe their parents are good and rational people. In the young child's mind, what the parents say is correct by default (unless of course the child feels extremely inconvenienced, like when mommy takes away the chocolate bar).

As for bigotry, uncircumcised is probably not a whole lot more bigoted than your typical american west of the Hudson. I don't think he takes moon man seriously and I only think he is just following the herd, or what the herd says is THE holy book about homosexuality. People, espeically adults have a herdlike mentality typically related to the "what to think" rather than "how to think" mentality of parents, politicians, bureaucrats and schools.

Because of this, they are very slow in accepting new evidence, especially that which contradicts things they have been previously taught. It is even worse if you spent years of your life wasted fighting for an unjust cause.

it's strange. you may never have known it.. but sometime... you might have been somewhere... and someone fell in love with you at first sight. You may never even saw them physically with your own eyes... but when they saw you both your lives flashed before their eyes and they stored that memory for all time in their heart. The force, karma.. whatever... good vibrations... You are here. Even when you're not. Meaning i could trip over your gravestone or some shit and stub my toe. haha. wouldn't that be just..

you know what is so sad lax-boy? whenever i'm on ytmnd I have to make sure my volume is turned down below 10/100. I don't do that anywhere else, because I don't need too.

So why do I do this? Because of you. You think you're sooooooooo funny, clever, and witty with your repetitive ear rape bullshit.

And what's pathetic is you are in your 30's and you do this all the time, it never gets old to you. But what your obviously ass pie induced mind doesn't grasp is that there are other users here. And it would be one thing if the layout on the home page had the username by the site so we could know off the bat who made it. but no. Umfuld has every right to call you out and what's more insane than everything is why you bash the moon crew and other users for killing ytmnd.

Gotta love how you play on this site. You are jovst like Rush Limbaugh, the man who bashed stoners and then was indicted for doctorshopping narcotic pain killers.

you know i love you, as a ytmnder of course, but you are hillariously wrong about gay people. you really think pornography is what is increasing the #'s! as jjj would like to say, McLOL!

1. people are born gay, straight, bi, w/e. whether they watch porn or not, they are still gay, even if they don't accept it themselves
2. implying that porno is "switching people over" to gay really just reflects the bisexual community. and like point #1, they were born that way
3. your aids information is off at say the least
4. if you want a better understanding of sexual orientation, read up on the Kinsey Scale. you will come to find out the the great majority of people are technically bisexual

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is one of the best albums of all time.

However, I loved Trick Of The Tail and Invisible Touch, which were both after gabriel left. Though I prefer Genesis with Gabriel, it didn't completely suck afterwords like people say.
