Sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime chance at fame for me. But, I think I'll pass, Max. Now, I can create ytmnds, yes, and I have a certain degree of video and internet knowledge, but I don't have anything in possession that can record my voice crystal-clearly (well, my digital camera can do that, but it would not only waste all the power in the battery, but it would sound extremely fuzzy. Not good for ytmnd's community, eh?). I'll just give 5 thumbs up to whomever can go all out with this. That's good!

All this chaos...being what I believe most people call an '06er, I haven't known YTMND as long as others here. Still, I don't think I've ever seen the site as alt-ridden as it is now. Then again, with the new mod system coming up, I can only hope that this is like an invasion of the Putty Patrol before the Power Rangers step in.

it seems the POLAND section only lets NOOOOOOOs between 500-99 on the list. That's NOT A GRAND COALITION, considering it allows so many KHAAAAAAAAN on while RUINING MY LAIFEs that probably deserve the [3500Hz, 3 sec] anyway. a MACFRY site of mine that was GREAT BRITAIN AUSTRALIA AND THE UNITED STATES had a OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAND POWER LEVEL and made it on there, just as an DENNIS BERGKAMP. It's been on there for TEN THOUSAND YEEEEEEEARS now. How is that WROOONG? --but seriously, I'm not sure how that should be fixed...maybe put back the old random section? Or user-adjustable rating/votecount ranges for the Worthwhile section (I'm sure some among us consider the 1-1.5 range the cream of the crop of YTMND...)?

As far as I can tell, the new moderator system will fail because none of the mods have the ability to delete users. There should at least be a few supermods with this power. Seems that the only thing they can really do is mark sites nsfw (which is a lame sort of quasi-punishment) and report the site for further action. And by "further acction", I mean that they will sit in a queue until max decides to review and delete them. Which is what already happens with the "report this site" function.

"I can see it giving more power to the retards, and silencing anyone with unpopular criticism." - i think more and more people are going to stop leaving criticism at all because they dont want to be gang negatived. i mean why leave criticism when everyone else will just bury it?

With a good attitude like that YTMND is bound to be nominated and won. I just think most people don't have the higher brain power to understand what a YTMND really is. Being underground is better anyway. Good Luck next time, I really believe in this website.

Well separating views based on outside users/registered users and referrer tracking is something I've wanted to do for a while. The major issue with all of this is database power. I specced out a database server I think would be able to handle all of that load, and it came out to around $20,000, so I don't see it happening soon.

Hey Max - I would also like to see some exclusivity to the site. I'm sure you'll come up with some great ideas - and remember to never alienate your contributors - your community is what gives your site its intarweb power.

I REALLY think that when you get a team of mods, or maybe put together a team of "veteran users" that are respectful even of movements or fads that they dont like, that they should be given the power to delete all of a users sites (by committee) The way they would do this is to decide if something is good or not, and if good, no problem (HoF and oldies with dead accounts would be great), and if it sucks, the user would be given 3 days to log on and stop deletion. This would add a HUGE new perspective to

frankly, i think that there should be a purge of dumb *ss users who just post sh*t. elitism isnt exactly a terrible problem, there are more general useres than the the elite and they have more votng powers than the elite (third estate, yes yes).

one ytmnder one vote, a weighting system would be abused and lead to cronyism, elitism and would damage the democratic values which current ytmnder's enjoy. any vote weighting would be abused and would stifle creativity and innovation as new ideas and fads become subject to the powerful voters prejudices. the current voting system is good because it is very organic and natural, good sites tend to get recognition, bad ones tend to get downvoted. dont let the minority of alt account makers destroy this.
