(continued) User moderation is the equivalent of the inmates running the asylum. Whoever has the biggest group of friends can yield great power over the site. That is why everyone hates downvoters so much and now we plan to give them a chance to moderate themselves? Personally, as people prove themselves to be trustworthy (how that is done I honestly have no idea ) they should be allowed to have moderation options. Limiting posting options should be done by a certain percent of posts that (continue again)

That seems like a lot of power to give a single person. What if the mod hates your ass? Oops, they found a problem with the site x/

Hey Max, I have an idea regarding donations. How about anyone who has donated a certain amount has more powers over the interactive elements of YTMND? Like, maybe not weighted site voting, but more comment upvoting/downvoting. The ability to DELETE COMMENTS for those who have donated a certain amount. And it would really be cool if your Sponsorships This Week page would show the top users that have donated money "of all time." I'm curious to see what that looks like.

Where randomly inserting a nostalgia-inducing late 80s/early 90s cartoon/videogame reference into a movie clip is considered the epitome of wit. LOL THAT MARIO CHOMP'S GONNA EAT BUTCH AND SUNDANCE BUT NOT BEFORE MY BUDDY FOR OLD MEN IS PLAYING WITH CLIVE OWEN'S POWER!

Making all NSFW sponsored sites visible on the main page even when the "hide all NSFW content" option is turned off is a great idea. It's been done with sites on the Most Voted This Week section, and I think sponsored sites must deserve it. As for granting powers to people who sponsor a lot, max is already considering this, I believe. I think he's going to give some benefits to people that have sponsored at least $15 or something.

Or we could just remove all of them, except for the original YTMND. Most of the original HoF sites would make it back on eventually, and maybe then the creators of those sites may be more trusted to vote on HoF sites. I also didn't mean to let them have more voting power than anyone else, I just meant in addition to whoever else is voting. I dunno, I'm just making this up as I go along, why don't we just vote on it?

yay my clive owen site got mentioned :) and boy i knew someone was going to have a problem with it. It's okay because I wouldn't want every site to be nintendostalgia either. Anyway, who said it was the epitome of humor? I sure didn't. :P And can you honestly say that sites like clive owen is playing with power are making ytmnd a worse place?

I would prefer him to end his acceptance speech with "and I promise to use my newly elected power to further advance the field of "HORSE DICK". That in itself would put him in the White House.

I can see Max being tired of YTMND. But I can't see him destroying this place. I just can't see this place going for good now. If only there had been a real team to work YTMND into a truly self-sustaining state. Then Max could go off and venture into new projects and we wouldn't have to lose everything we stood for and created here. We had Syncan, but he wasn't going to keep working for free. Things could have been done months, even years ago, back when YTMND was at its most popular/powerful.

That option was actually intentionally crippled and never removed. It was neat statistic, but took too much server power to do on a constant basis. There is a lot of small stuff like that all over the site, and rather than fix them all on the live site I'm doing it in the refactoring so I don't have to manage two completely different code bases.

I thought Max disabled the voting powers of prominent up/downvoters. AND! Sakura, I love you for remembering my one-and-a-half day attempt at a new fad. ^^

Typical feminist argues that women are powerless and men are powerful, yet more men commit suicide than women, and a male child is over 600% likely to commit suicide than a girl after he's exposed to the obligations of his male role. Despite these hard statistics, no one considers suicide a problem for men. Why?

Seriously, why would one just want to end it all before their time? Technology will change civilization before our eyes, thanks to the sky rocketing prices of oil, our society will be forced to change our power sources, and soon. (Which would be an interesting thing to be around for) Not to mention how fast computers and other technology has come around in the last two years. Imagine what TV watching will be like in 2020. It makes me wonder why someone would overlook everything the world has to offer.

New feature idea, stop new users from registering openly. Make them submit a site that is reviewed by a team of users who will decide who is worthy. Delete sh*tty users/downvoters/upvoters/alts. More mods. Give mods the power to ban for stolen content even if it is cited. Basically purge YTMND down to the 20 or so good users and only let constructive potential members join. Gated communities are a benchmark of progress.

Zero: what? So how do you know where it doesn't go if it's "unaccounted" for. It's goes for something illegal, so some member of the ruling elite can satisfy his addiction, whether it be for sex, drugs, power, legacy, etc. Plus it's all connected. I could show you flow charts listing the people on BODs, Defense Department, etc. and how they are either related to each other (closely, not like 7th cousins) or have been part of the same think tank or PR firm.

plummeting instead of giving themselves raises every year, lobbyists losing power...etc...plus the whole taxation without representation which can be easily proved that their interests have not been for the people (actually THEY have to prove it, not the other way around) plus the whole you can't be jailed OR retroactively punished for not paying your taxes. Those were some of the MAIN points of the revolution. Their blood has now gone for naught as all these tenets have been broken.

Ink proves himself to be an assumptive closeminded man of folly who employes stereotypes which is fine if a joke but it seems like he sincerely believes what he is saying. For the record I voted for nobody (and am quite eligible to vote) but knew Paul, Gravel, and Kuchinich were the only candidates who weren't addicted to their own legacy or power or greed, not owned by corporations, and wouldn't manipulate laws to shove their beliefs down the people's throat.
